Update on my search for 50 pre-asph v3: the lens I sent to the CLA guy who said it has separation, we are now sending it to Leica New Jersey who in turn will forward it to Wetzlar for repair. The Wetzler technician won’t know whether it is repairable until he gets it. I know someone who just had their v3 repaired by Wetzler, so hopefully this one can also be repaired. My friend who is the seller of the lens will give it to me for a great price, less the cost of repair which I will pay. My fingers and toes are crossed that this works out and I finally get the lens this thread has made me lust for

 :)

I had mine repaired, it took 10 months and cost €600 at the time. You may have a wait on your hands but once you get it back, it will be perfect 👌

it's worth the wait. The Leica repair tech in New Jersey spoke to the repair person in Wetzlar who estimated an 8 week turnaround. Probably that's wishful thinking.

That would be very surprising as my experience was relatively recent but Leica may have improved on this side of things. Fingers crossed!

So i tried this pre asph for landscape, i usually relied more on the 21SEM, 28 summaron, and a 35 pre asph..

while the 28 summaron might flare a little, not like crazy and depends on the lighting situation…. The 50 pre asph aint an ideal for my use case… however i was fortunate since i would crop that in mind, leave the flare out of the frame

settings 20s | f8 | iso 200
