Jean Marc,

i always loved your photos on 35s, but I’ve been exploring 50s threads these past few days and I’m in awe of your photos. They’re so good, I love your 50mm work.

Hello Steven ,

thank you very much for your very kind words !
Cheers

JM

Beautiful images in this thread, guys.

While I am very familiar with the 35mm Leica historical lineup, I'm "new" to the 50mms.

Can someone give me a quick 101 class on the different Pre Asph 50s? I understand that when you say E46, you refer to the v3, while the v2 is E43? I also understand the rare bird is the black paint ?

Feel free to use comparisons to the 35s if its easier to describe. Many thanks !

I'll pm you !

Just a quick thanks to all the posters, the images posted lead me to beleive this lens is everthing I imagined it to be.  My only problem is that I'm now starting to view the lens as gateway to a Noct F1.  What a dangerous game this is.

I wouldn’t look at it that way. The Noct is something specialty and I don’t think something someone would want to carry around all day.  The Lux is small and an excellent general purpose lens that has sprinkles of magic here and there. I have the e43 and I can say that for MY own tastes, it’s the only 50 I own that really stands out image wise.

Thanks - ok, I've given myself a slap and am back on track!
