Hi,

I have a Leica M10. If get it right, the level gauge is not available in the M10 firmware update, correct? The current M10 firmware update only updates the list of supported cameras.

Hope to be wrong :)

Thanks

Yes. Sorry.

On the customer service page for M10  https://us.leica-camera.com/Service-Support/Support/Downloads I downloaded this file:  M10-2.20.48.38

If I understand the discussion correctly, the only benefit for the M10 would be  "The list of automatically detectable Leica-M lenses was extended" and not the Perspective Correction?

Sorry, you are right, in M10 there is the sensor missing, you need the M10P or newer ... sorry for that, maybe this helps, I only have the German link, but you can bye it elsewhere - for sure... https://amzn.to/3sxvq2q (about 2 Euros) oder this - more possibilities https://amzn.to/3ku3hGG

A difficult few days.  I have updated firmware on numerous occasions for types 240, 246 and an M10P.  I usually wait a month or so to see how you guys get on.  This latest update for the M10P seemed to be the biggest file so far with a major improvement.  With a freshly charged battery and the firmware file on a recently formatted card, I switched on the camera to see a message to the effect that the file was being unzipped or decompressed.  It took an awful long time.  In fact, I had some telephone calls and went back to the camera which was warm, bordering on hot with a blank screen.  My heart sank.  I had to remove the battery because of the heat.  Had it been half an hour or an hour since the update started?  I removed the battery to allow the camera to cool down until the next day.  I dropped in an empty card and freshly charged battery.  The red light came on, the 50mm guide lines were visible momentarily but then the camera was dead.  The day after, I saw the "bc" flash up momentarily but the camera shut down.  I was resigned to waiting for the Mayfair Boutique to open for a repair.  Last night, I put the card in with the firmware file and a freshly charged battery just to see what would happen.  Today, it switched on as if nothing had happened.  The firmware was updated and my future shots of buildings will have perfect perpendiculars.  I wonder whether the size of that update is getting too much for the M10P.
