Honestly I have an SL2 and a GFX100 for work. Are you printing large images bigger than 30x40 inches? Are you photographing snow scenes? If not then you really don’t need the Fuji. On the odd occasion you need a huge print just use one of the new programs, even photoshop and double the resolution size to print at 300dpi…

A lot of this is just marketing. The SL Apo lenses out perform my Hasselblad xcd lenses… So if you are using good glass as it seems you are, then no, you are not going to get some mind blowing difference.

Rent one and you will see.

Agree, the SL APOs are amazing quality wise.

In regards to GFX or Hasselblad, both cameras will bring you some more dynamic range, but only if you really have the skills to squeeze that out of the camera. None of these cameras shows the real clipping point, since all exposure preview meterings are based on the internal jpeg engine.

Your fp-L so as the regular fp can pull of that trick. (false color preview based on real sensor saturation)

That means, if you invest a lot of time to really figure out the limits of the camera there is a theoretical benefit, but most users don't do that.

@Jim B and @OleBe, many thanks for the callouts. I don’t print, all files are displayed through Apple monitor, albums to friends, and occasionally on projection big screen with Apple TV.

It seems there is no justifiable use case other than GAS to spend on a Fuji (and a Hasselblad X2D setup has crossed my mind also) MF investment.

Will simmer down and focus on using present gear for 3 planned travel trips balance of this year; and keep eye out for SL3.

Just to round out the story, I do have a M10-R with WATE/MATE/50 APO Summicron/90 Macro Elmar for city and travel if all day walking is likely. Given what I predominantly shoot, landscapes at F8, always with a visoflex, the WATE gets most used, less than 15% of the shots on the other lenses; pondering getting a 21mm or perhaps 18mm M lens; as cropping is frequent in post.

Haven’t used the SL-2 for the M lenses much, seems it’s time to try as my eyesight begins to deteriorate.
