Dennis Posted January 12, 2021 Author Share #81 Posted January 12, 2021 Advertisement (gone after registration) To be honest with you, I'm excited about my next february at f/2 ... I'm very curious to see how it feels and how it looks. About latin. Don't know, I never had positive feedbacks at school... I was a bad latin student. But I'm sure I learned other languages thanks to latin I studied. EVERYTHING is connected.
Advertisement Posted January 12, 2021 Posted January 12, 2021 Hi Dennis, Take a look here if you had to choose only one F/stop (0.95-16). I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!

ktmrider2 Posted January 12, 2021 Share #83 Posted January 12, 2021 (edited) Restricting yourself to one lens maybe, to one f stop no way. If you want the experience of using a lens with only one aperture, get a Nikon SLR and the 500f8 mirror lens or perhaps the 1000f11. Cannot change f stop but can put neutral density filters on the back. It is great for sports and wildlife and street photography when the subjects are on the other side of the county (and very small and light for a 500mm/1000mm). Although mine is quite challenging! Ernst

ktmrider2 Posted January 13, 2021 Share #91 Posted January 13, 2021 So, you like f2? How do you shoot that outside with TriX in a Leica M? Neutral density filter? I think it would just be easier to change the f stop. ISO 50 film-use flash inside with a Leica M, no thanks.
pippy Posted January 13, 2021 Share #92 Posted January 13, 2021 (edited) OK! This is going to be a long shot - for one thing I don't actually have the lens yet() - but, just to do something different, for the rest of January (Covid-Allowing) I'll only use my (hopefully imminently-incoming new-to-me) 1953 50mm f1.5 Summarit-M on my M Monochrom at f1.5. What could possibly go wrong? Philip. Edited January 13, 2021 by pippy

So I would probably use f/4 outside as my first value. But the next month, I will use f/2 only. So, bye bye highlights outdoor I guess. Unless I'll see something different than usual. From experimenting and failing, I always discover new things. And in photography one never stops to learn.

M10Alpine Posted January 13, 2021 Share #97 Posted January 13, 2021 February: I have loaded my MP with TriX 400 I will use a 35mm summicron at f5.6 if I take this challenge on. March: I would go M10M - and f1.2 in March cant wait for that new Noctilux to hit the market.

Well, as we're here in Leica-M land, the desire to enjoy the wonders of 500mm / 1000mm lenses on a daily basis seem to be in small demand amongst the Faithful. Philip. My personalized Sunny16 is 1/4000 - f/4 - iso 200 . My starting point to expose for the highlights. Because 200 has better highlights recovery Shooting at f/2, we'll see
