As teased by Dr Kaufmann in July.
We will soon discover the project Walter.
which should be a bunch of newly produced old M lenses designed by Walter Mandler.

Which ones will get the honour of a new production ?

My 75mm Summilux is made in Germany, so I am guessing they will not have to...

Would be interesting if they could reproduce the 50mm 1.0 or 1.2 Noctilux at a more reasonable entry price, as I would imagine that there would be a lot of interest, all the more so from people interested in using it in film/video work. Much easier to buy or even remount a 3000 dollar lens than a 6000-11,000 dollar lens. But I guess that even if they did rerelease it, it would be more expensive. I am also not sure if the same glass types they used are still in keeping with EU regulations, as that was a problem for a number of classic lenses (SWC etc).

Why not ?

😊 list of them here in Wiki

I didn't know that I was Walter Mandler's fan before learning it in Internet lately.

Anyway, I think that I have ( used many for some decades by now ) those that I need ( less Noctilux f/1.2 which was not Mandler's creation ) , but

to quote Wiki ( Noctilux 1.2/50 ) :

Designers - Helmut Marx and Paul Sindel 25 Apr 1964

It is not necessary to wait to get it. For collectors reasonable prices, I assume.
