50mm Noctilux new version on the way?

I've heard rumblings that Peter Karbe is working on a new version of the 50mm Noctilux. Has anyone else heard the same and any guesses when we might see one in the wild?

Afaik, today the expected Noctilux is the f 1,2  "vintage" re-edition.

Not sure Peter is personally involved. He has stated he has no interest in retro re-issues, as his goal is the development of technically perfect lenses.

Sadly no mention of the 35mm which was in the original 'rumour'.

Given that the Noctilux 0.95 is a recent design, and leica tend to measure the lifespan of lens designs in decades, not years, the introduction of a new "regular" Noctilux is rather unlikely.

There were rumours of a new 50mm Noctilux at the same time the 35mm Noctilux, 75mm Noctilux and 90mm (then) Noctilux were rumoured.

We got the 75mm Noctilux.
Zenit made a 35mm f1.0 for their M redesign
We got a 90mm Summilux

While a new 50mm Noctilux is possible, and its been discussed as potentially faster than 0.95, it's more likely that the rumour at the time was just the incoming 1.2 Re-issue.

A 35mm Noctilux by Leica is probably more likely than a new 50mm in my opinion, but who can tell.

I saw some samples on Leica Rumours I think. They were...very Zenit looking.

This report on the Zenit 35/1 Zenitar with accompanying pictures appeared on the forum in September if that's any help?

Funny when Karbe was asked on a interview about the release of the vintage f1.2 he was quite surprised it was to be released...seems.he had no idea
