Its not limited from what they told me, its going to be made in 1800 copies. Only Silver is limited to 100

Of course it is limited to 100 pieces, until they get sold. Providing it sells well nothing to stop them adding small design twist or do nothing  and release another batch soon after, maybe to commemorate one of the company milestone anniversaries, or pet animal birthdays of one of the Leica celebrate photographers.

If it's the case, I see nothing wrong with that :

100 for fortunate 100 (or more if required), they would sell well at double of price (I can be wrong ! )

1800 for users this number can vary I think depending on market demand.

I agree, nothing wrong with selling as much as you can get away with. Only trying to point out that Limited editions are limited in name only.

Of course it would be, it was commissioned by third party limited edition. 

Ever since idea of remake of 50mm f1.2 was floated earlier this year (2020) my view was that it would make little sense for Leica to reinvent tooling to produce vintage lens in limited numbers only.  In case of LHSA optics cells were identical to mainstream lenses, only change was cosmetic externals. I think you would agree that in terms of manufacturing it is easier and cheaper to machine external barrels than optical cells.

If you mean reinventing the machining of asphericals surfaces (2) of the original Nocti 1,2... it was a terribly costly process AT THOSE TIMES... nowadays CNC technology is relatively cheap even for grinding such components with complex geometry  (I have direct evidence of this in the automotive lamps reflectors - many do involve aspherical surfaces) , and... will someone verify if the glass elements are EXACTLY like in the historical Noctilux ? 😉.. it's a honest 6 elements design, after all... for users who will compare it to modern and more complex designs...

If making aspheric lens element is cheap nowadays just do it but please keep onion rings out.  Being a little bit facetious isn’t that cheating?
