Look at ebay and check the 'Sold' listings (not those still on sale). 2. www.mpb.com. I think others, such as Clifton Cameras, also do an online valuation service I use these to set a starting price for ebay auctions, though I have also sold stuff to mpb anyway if describing it properly for ebay looked problematic. I have sold stuff on commission via a London dealer. Selling/trading in through them can be difficult because their high overheads mean they don't offer the best value. And all dealers get a flood of recent models as trade-ins when a new model comes out. Edited December 18, 2020 by LocalHero1953

Trying to photograph a distant egret with a 90-280 with the drive set at 5pfs, iAF and single point focus some of the frames mid sequence  are soft - more trials needed! I did have it on a monopod with IS on so that may be an issue to resolve. To the point though. about trade in. I've not tried MPB for them to buy in. I've sold a lot of gear through Ffordes. As their buy in prices are relatively low I've sold on commission with them. They've set a good price when they've seen the equipment and given me the chance to have the equipment returned if not happy. I've gone with them and after commission I've been paid much more than selling direct to them. It is though a matter of waiting for folks to purchase so, if you aren't in need of the cash straight away, I'd suggest selling on commission through any of the big dealers might be the way to go instead of Ebay! I hope this helps - another dull day here in the NE - not conducive to trying out the new camera - perhaps it's better where you live!!! Best wishes, Graeme

Battery is charged and 3M black tape applied, ready for the weekend. Any black tape to recommend? Is there one with little to no residue after long-term application? Applied some duct tape for years on a Q (to mask the branding): mostly okay but a couple of small spots were a bit difficult to clean...

FrozenInTime Posted December 18, 2020 Share #49  Posted December 18, 2020 (edited) 3M Temflex https://www.screwfix.com/p/3m-temflex-insulating-tape-black-25m-x-19mm/8346X?  I would avoid no name or store branded tapes. I've had a piece of this sealing the card door on my TL2 for two years and it's still sticking with no gooey residue; and I open and close the door many times to swap cards or charge. The piece covering the TL2 red dot is equally time served. Edited December 18, 2020 by FrozenInTime

scott kirkpatrick Posted December 27, 2020 Author Share #52  Posted December 27, 2020 They're available. Popflash is listing at least one in stock. us.leica-camera.com now says "just released, we'll tell you when we have them..." Mine took a bit of an odyssey, showing the difficulties of Xmas shipping. It reached Popflash a day later than promised. Got to my remailer in Houston in just over another day. Got out of Houston before the Xmas cutoff, Left the US via Indianapolis, passed through Cologne, and reached Israel early on Dec 24th. Now Israel, which doesn't  pause for Christmas, is where workaholics go to celebrate the last two weeks of the year. We have constant workshops and seminars, visitors, applicants, etc. But this time customs took all of the 24th to release the package and FedEx's local franchise decided to give in to corona-fatigue and take a long weekend So I spent several days staring at a screen which promised delivery on Dec 29 by 6 pm. But I got through to someone in the back office, asked VERY nicely, and it reached me this afternoon.

Dr. G Posted December 31, 2020 Share #55  Posted December 31, 2020 Berger Brothers Camera in Syosset, NY has it in stock.  They are an independent, knowledgeable shop that's been around for years.  The owner is great to work with.  No affiliation, but Brad is a great guy and his staff is equally as fantastic.  I purchased lots of equipment from them and have been very happy with the service.  (516) 496-1000.
