hirohhhh Posted December 11, 2020 Share #1 Â Posted December 11, 2020 Advertisement (gone after registration) What do you use for Profile Corrections in Lightroom for your SL/SL2? Do you leave it unchecked, use a Default profile, or something else? Does it matter for SL lenses? I don't see any difference anyway, as I can see with my Fuji x100f. For M-lenses I may enable the Profile Correction manually. There is no choice for L-mount lenses: either the built-in profile correction is applied or no correction is needed. I would love to believe my SL lenses don't need correcting, but I am skeptical.  My bet is Adobe hasn't gotten around to it and doesn't feel the need/demand. The lens correction data for L-mount lenses are embedded in the raw files. Therefore, it is Leica who decides whether a lens needs lens correction, not Adobe. Looking at my DNGs created by SL2 with M-lenses, no built-in profile is stored in the raw file. Instead, one can specify whether the lens profile (provided by Adobe) should be applied or not. The camera does not actually knows if you have shot it at 1.4 or f4. the vignetting correction should be different. You can test this easily your self. just cover the 6 bit coding on the lens and see the results . I see a big difference in the 35mm FLE at 1.

Distortion correction and additional vignetting is done optionally with Adobe's profile (except for L-mount lenses)
Photoworks Posted December 17, 2020 Share #10 Â Posted December 17, 2020 Yeah, Â L lenses have it back in, You should see the 24-90mm at 24mm. It is a total pillow! ;-)

Adobe software cannot turn off the built-in profile (SDC, vignetting), but other tools can.
