Ahsu88 Posted November 13, 2020 Share #1 Posted November 13, 2020 Advertisement (gone after registration) Bought a new camera, shop for strap and wanted also get a new strap for Q2. I have Peak Design anchor on all my cameras so I have only one shared Slider strap. Nothing wrong with the Peak Design just wanted try something a bit more classic. So I bought a Vi Vante strap (was on sale), pretty good looking but it doesn’t fit with a Leica grip installed and even removing the grip the leather protector is kind of blocking my finger from pressing shutter (small hands, short fingers). I also bought their quick release clip and an donut shape scratch protector, didn’t help. What kind of strap you use and do you have any recommendation? Thanks. Advertisement Posted November 13, 2020 Posted November 13, 2020 Hi Ahsu88, Take a look here Q2 strap. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
PhotoCruiser Posted November 13, 2020 Share #2 Posted November 13, 2020 What about the original Q2 strap? Chris
ianforber Posted November 13, 2020 Share #3 Posted November 13, 2020 I use a Peak Design Leash on my Q2 but have a leather strap from 1901fotografi on one of my other cameras which works well.
Herr Barnack Posted November 13, 2020 Share #4 Posted November 13, 2020 3 hours ago, PhotoCruiser said: What about the original Q2 strap? Chris I like a longer strap that lests you wear the Q2 in a cross-body carry; the strap that comes with thrvQ2 is too short for this. I currently have an Artist & Artisan easy slider strap on my Q2 which works quite well: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1236150-REG/artisan_artist_aaacame25nblk_easy_slider_camera_strap.html/specs Another option would be a leather strap in 130 cm. length from Harry Benz, or an even longer custom length that he can make. T25UFO Posted November 13, 2020 Share #5 Posted November 13, 2020 Another vote for Harry Benz, although I use his Pinstripe Wrist Strap. It works well if you also have the Q2 Thumb Grip. https://www.harrybenz.com/shop/la-cravate-pinstripe
iRandom Posted November 13, 2020 Share #6 Posted November 13, 2020 I use the gray version of the Peak Design Cuff and Leash. I find that the gray has a premium look with the tan leather and silver accents.
SrMi Posted November 13, 2020 Share #7 Posted November 13, 2020 Advertisement (gone after registration) You can also use PD anchor links to combine the quick release system with a non-PD strap.
KenBennett Posted November 13, 2020 Share #8 Posted November 13, 2020 It's not fancy, but I have been using the Upstrap on all my cameras since I saw an article on Luminous Landscape in 2009. The main feature is the sticky pad, so the camera never slides off my shoulder. (The downside is that it's tough to do the "wrap it three times around my wrist" thing when I want to carry the camera in one hand.) The smallest Upstrap works well on my Q2. RoySmith Posted November 13, 2020 Share #9 Posted November 13, 2020 I second the recommendation for Harry Benz straps. I use one on my SL and it is perfect. On the Q2 I use a 120cm Arte di mano waxed cotton strap. It is long enough to carry cross body and matches the beautiful and functional Arte di mano half case.
Ahsu88 Posted November 17, 2020 Author Share #10 Posted November 17, 2020 Thank you all the the comments, I ended up getting a Vi Vante Matador SL version with a Peak Design anchor so I can share the strap with other cameras and quick release it. It fits well with the grip on it and my small hand/finger. During the search also found Lucky strap from Australia offers good looking wide straps comfortable for hiking (20% off sale currently, code is sale2020), also fits Peak Design anchor well. I use the Q2 strap and Peak Design slider, nothing wrong with them, was just impressed by the soft braised beautiful Vi Vante Matador leather. I used to use Black Rapid on heavy Nikon DSLR, so bought a Fast Hold Han Solo limited edition sometime ago, an overkill for Q2, but it’s very easy to use wearing over heavy winter jacket.
