Louis,

Please share some information on the Angenieux 35-70. I just love the photos that your lens produces on the T.

Rob

Rob,

I bought this zoom about 30 years ago with Nikon mount to use with my Nikon cameras. With f/2.5, it was the fastest zoom of its category in those days.As excellent as it is, somehow I did not use it much.

Angenieux is a French lens maker that is making glasses mainly for professional movie cameras. If I can recall, it even won Oscars for technical achievement. They also have made a few lenses for still cameras; but they are rare and costly.

Although I am not using it very often because of its size ( on T), I love the result I get from it every time I am un-dusting it! :)

Thank you, Louis. Wonderful lens. I am going to keep an eye on eBay and see if one comes up.

This is a very beautiful and classic and timeless photo, dear Vikas. How could anyone not to love it!

What I would do, though, is to cut the top a little and to burn the top right ( the arm of the child ) a little in order to give a more powerful focus to the center of the shot. But of course, this is a matter of personal taste. :)

You are quite right Louis. I will try that - but no access to a computer for a couple of days now...

These were taken outside of the Leica Miami's warehouse in Hollywood, Florida where I was able to try the 90-280 Vario Elmarit-SL (effective 135-420mm) on the TL2. Shots were handheld, and taken at the extremes - 135mm/420mm.

Wow; I was not aware leica is also selling vegetables!... ;) It says "Asia". Maybe is Panasonic re branded Leica veggies! ?

Hmmm, Leica warehouse!... Can you walk in and buy from them? Same pricing as stores? I am glad Miss Irma wasn't too tough on those beautiful stuff! ;)

Funny!

So sorry! Did I misspell it as "Leica" warehouse?

That is the "Like-A" vegetables warehouse.

All kidding aside the 90-280 is a very impressive lens. Well balanced and not as heavy as I had dreaded. Handheld it is pretty nice.  Now, just have to save up some more $.  :)
