A couple of comparative shots.

The one below was taken with the T and Zeiss planar wide open.

The following shot was with the SL 601 and the Noctilux.

People’s Climate March in Washington DC – April 29/ 2017

It was a hot day, around 90F, but thousands of people gathered in Washington DC to march for the climate change. It was far from being my favorite time of the day for shooting. The sun was over my head, and the shadows did not look very pretty!

But that was not the worst! When I returned home, I had the bad surprise to see my camera was on ISO 3200; and, the shooting mod was on “S”!... I just don’t understand how that could happen!...

Nevertheless, I could save some shots in my Photoshop, and make a gallery that you can kindly check at this link: http://objectif.zenfolio.com/p268484554#h89200b18

Once again, I must point out that I am not expressing my own political views; I am just sharing with my friends an event that happened in my town!

All with Leica T + Angenieux 35-70 mm. (manual focusing)

You wouldn't know of the "mistakes" Louis, they all look great, very colourful.

Gary

Agree with Gary. (But, maybe you should just concentrate on "Fantasy Fest" in Key West?) :)

That Angenieux lens is just terrific.

Much appreciated, dear Gary and Rob.

This Angenieux is really a wonderful lens that is giving me very nice colors and IQ. But it is also a manual lens which is not very practical for this kind of shots. Not long ago, someone offered me $3000 for this lens; but I just couldn't let it go! Maybe I should have done it, and get another Leica T native zoom instead for this kind of events! AF works better for that!...

Rob, as I am planning to move to Florida; I guess you will see me often at Key West! But I must find out before what you are wearing (or not wearing) so I can recognize you! ;)

Haven't posted much pics here in the T section in awhile, but since talk of using Noctilux on the T decided to take some shots with mine.  This is older F1 version, much softer.  Shot wide open.  and just to note, haven't had much luck with ND filter on the T with this lens shot wide open.  Best in lower light.

I was able to try out my Nikon 200 f 4.0 AI s with the T yesterday.  My conclusion was that it is dfficult to manually  focus a 300mm   equivalent lens on small fast moving birds and animals.  I managed to get a few keepers, but was frustrated much of the time.  The lens is certainly sharp enough when shutter speed and accuracy of focus are good.  Hopefully I will get better at it as time goes on.

I wondered whether we'd see pictures of the march from you Louis.  Wonderful set, notwithstanding your 'problem'!

Nice 200mm (300mm) shots Rick.

It sort of echos what I am already finding, and I haven't even been that long with the focal length. Well OK, I did try a few shots with my astro scope (400mm or so focal length) but.............

I have the 23mm Summicron, and also the 18-56 zoom.

When my C&N adapter, M - T arrived late last week, I scurried around trying the Canon 50mm 1.4, the Summicron M 50mm, the Summilux M 35mm, and also slipped the Micro Nikkor 50mm f2.8 on.

All fitted, focused and "worked as expected", but none were as simple nor convemient as using the native fair dinkum Leica T(L) lens.

The ability to have the lens focus is part of the reason, the other is that unless I am going to shoot at max aperture, then there is a delay in the shot somewhere. I want to focus at max aperture, and if then shooting at a few stops down, I need to do this manually, this takes time, and takes the concentration from viewing composing.

Wandering around, shooting architecture etc, well it would be simple enough, but moving targets, especially close up are less easily handled.

Where to from here? It certainly is handy to use the M (and occasionally, R) lenses, but to me the simplest and most logical option is to simply use the T(L) lenses. If a nice stationary flower shot presents itself, and the tripod is involved then it's a no-brainer, use the Micro Nikkor. But chasing grand-children, or hand-held macro shots, no way.

Gary
