Yep, flowers are flavour of the moment.

Waiting for a photo opportunity of our daughter and grand-daughter, this fading camellia was visited by a bee.

Testing after repair

I received my camera back from repair a couple of days ago. As it was not pouring today, I decided to take it for a quick test.

First, I must say that comparing to the past, the customer service at Leica, NJ, is really beginning to suck! They lost much of my time, keeping me in dark about my camera, etc. I still don’t know what was wrong with my camera and what they did with it. It is always very important to know; so, you know how to use your camera in future!

But I must also confess that from my personal experience, the Leica Repair in NJ is still top notch!

I don’t know what was wrong and what they did with my camera, but I am very pleasantly surprised by the result! I find the colors and the DR much better than before. It looks as if it was a completely different camera!... I cross my fingers for it to last as long as possible! :)

So, as the result of my test seems to be very positive, I invite everyone for a cup of Champagne! ;)

Good to hear Louis, but as you say, it would have been beneficial to know what was wrong, and what they did.

I've not heard anything good about Leica NJ, but given I will likely never have any contact with them it is annoying, but OK.

Direct with CS in Germany, well, the service is exemplary.

Keep shooting. I am. Found a 23 Summicron and Visoflex recently, so am sorted now, waiting for the T replacement later this year.

I just love the colors and the IQ of the flower shot!

Louis,

Thank you . . .  Here's one which I think was stopped down to f2.8.  I was thinking that rather than commit to buy a 75 1.4 for $3-4K that I might accomplish close to the equivalent by simply acquiring the T (pre-owned and very reasonably priced) with its crop factor.  The noctilux is quite capable as a 'more ordinary' lens whenstopped down, as this photo attests.

Focus is certainly more challenging with the T, but I have high hopes for the new TL when it arrives sometime in the Fall.

And here's one w the Zeiss 50mm planar @f/2.

The Zeiss is a much easier proposition if one does not need extreme wide open.
