Just got back from our Caribbean Holiday - St Maarten.  We left just as the snow was falling in Maine - about 4' accumulated while we were gone!  However, St Maarten was as about perfect as Paradise gets.  The Leica T performed admirably as far as I am concerned.

There is a wonderful Butterfly Farm on the French side of the Island.  I got to use my Nikon 55mm micro lens.  Quite pleased with its performance.

The 18-56 did really well with close up shots of the Iquanas.

Thank you Tony - it was my first real outing with the T. Here is one with the Zeiss 25 Biogon - a self portrait if you look closely at the bowl on the right..LOL

Love it Rick, I so want to be there. I love the colours and the lines of your composition.

Hope you had a great time. (Looks like that's a given).

Volbeat,

The detail you get with that 35TL is Superb -  it reminds me of medium format resolution  .. and from a 16 meg sensor - just amazing!

Rick

Hi Rick,

It is an astonishing lens, probably the best piece of glass I've ever owned. I am having so much fun taking the same picture at f/1.4 then f/8. Simple pleasures.

Tell us more about St Maarten....

Definitely from France!  St. Maarten is truly a Paradise - at least in February.  We were in the French quarter for a few days, then off to a medical conference in a spiffy Westin Hotel on the Dutch side.

 - Grande Case - to me - it felt like being in Europe -  small cafe's with fresh croissant, and delicious  cappucinnos -  French style bakeries, relaxed atmosphere etc. Local restaurants called Lolos provide home cooked food at low prices.  All in all a grand respite from the cold North East.

Photographically speaking - Color, color, and more color.

Leica T with 18-56.  The more I use this lens, the more I appreciate how good it is.

You are absolutely right, Rick. 18-56 is better than I thought and I am enjoying it when I need to shoot with AF.

These are also with 18-56

A few pretty “derrières”!    ;)

LOL .... :D

Just wonderful, both Rick and Volbeat! :D

Let's continue the game and everyone with car shots is welcome to the party! ;)

Unfortunately, the car show in Washington DC is very small and many exotic cars are missing. .. Still with 18-56

I love that Alfa 4C, Louis.

I really fancy getting one of those myself - stupid as I know that would be.

This was my Alfa Spider. The most beautiful car I've ever owned, and the least reliable. All those rumours about dodgy Alfa Romeos you've heard are absolutely true. Buy one if your drive needs an ornament.

These are NOT Leica pics

Sounds absolutely delightful. For me the Caribbean is half a world away, France on the other hand is just a couple of hours by EasyJet. Most of my summers I get a break on the Cote D'Azur and I generally head to Paris pre-Christmas - I love the lifestyle. And the weather.

Thanks for letting us see St Maarten. I for one would welcome you opening a thread on the subject.

Cheers,

I always liked Alfa which was not that expensive in Europe in those days. It was even called the "Student Car"! :)

But I am surprised to not see any in the American streets. I was even more surprised when I saw 2 in the Washington DC car Show. But recently, I see a lot  publicity for Juilia on TV! ...

The spider one is really pretty, but the back of Juilia needs to be remodeled, IMHO! ;)
