Leica T w Zeiss Planar 50mm f2

This lens has a much different character than the Leica 35mm TL. The TL has more pop and is more contrasty, whereas this lens has more warmth and  is perhaps just a tad softer. Certainly no complaints, particularly as it is significantly smaller and lighter, looks great in silver on the silver T and is a whole lot less expensive than the 35mm.

Still Life

T+ Nikkor 50 mm, f/1.4

Very nice.  Is that from the olive oil store in Bethesda?  I've passed by it often on our visits to DC but would not have the presence of mind to capture something like this :-)

hehehe... You have a sharp eye, my friend!

It is from the store called "Secolari", next to Mon Ami Gabi, in Bethesda. They often have a colorful baskets outside their store and I had shot them several times before! ;)

My wife goes crazy for their olive oil and vinegar; bur for me, it is too "perfumed" and they don't have the real flavor! :)

BTW, my bottle shots are from "Mon Ami Gabi" window, next door!

I think you have to be careful about what you pick.  A couple of their olive oils have that really good sharp aftertaste in the throat :-)

Ive only had one lunch at Mon Ami Gabi but must go again some time.  It was delicious - even though I am vegetarian and their choice is limited.  My wife enjoyed it a lot though.

"Capitol" is getting ready for the inauguration of the new American President, in Washington DC.

Louis,

Please take plenty of photos of the events to follow in the next several days!

By the way, the Angenieux lens and picture of the fruit looks terrific.

Thanks,

Rob
