Your TL35 images are like magic.

Dear Santa,

Please, please, please could I find a TL35 under my Christmas tree...

Hi Volbeat,

I appreciate your kind words.

As is obvious, I, too, am so very pleased with the 35 mm TL.  For me, it has made the Leica T a keeper. While I quite happy with the 55-135 and the 11-23, as well, the 35 takes the T to another level for me. Photography for me is but a hobby, and I am nothing more than an enthusiast, but the 35mm. TL makes me 'look' a whole lot better than I am.

Here's to your holiday wishes coming true. :)

Rob

I picked up a like-new Zeiss 50mm Sonnar f 1.5 ZM lens a few days ago.  So far I have had mixed feelings about keeping it.  The plus side is that it is really great for low light inside photos. It has gorgeous Bokeh and really 'painterly' color and rendering (if I can say that).  However, it is definitely not a landscape lens. (I am primarily a landscape photographer if I had to categorize)  It is really best suited for portraits which I do not often shoot.

Meanwhile it is a very interesting lens that I bought hoping that it would expand my photographic repertoire .  Time will tell?  I was able to take a few shots before dinner yesterday, but was very busy cooking most of the time, so I didn't really get to shoot much.

Archie was my only willing subject available before I got busy with dinner prep.

This lens definitely has great potential - I love the color and Bokeh  50mm Sonnar ZM on Leica T.

Rick, these shots are great and your choice of subjects for this lens is perfect. You are right, 50 mm is not very practical for landscapes and street, but as you mentioned, it gives you gorgeous bokeh. I find myself keeping my Nikkor 50 mm f/1.4  on my T most of the time and I find the results to be very decent.

Zeiss lenses are also known for warm and saturated colors as we can see the difference in my following shots with Nikkor..

Following Rick comments on a 50 mm lens, here is one with Nikkor 50 mm F/1.4. I find it very good for still life and portraits, although I am also getting used to it for street shots.

And, one street shot with Nikkor 50 mm F/1.4. Nikkor definitely gives less saturated colors than Zeiss; but this is something that could be corrected to taste in PP.

Still experimenting with the Zeiss Sonnar C 1.5. Gotta love the Bokeh.

I have very much enjoyed the 35 TL 1.4, but the 55-135mm can also serve as an exceptional portrait lens.
