It is one of the most beautiful windmills and technically 'advanced' with its adjustable louvres on the wings. the exposure is better on this one.

I completely missed these two wonderful shots of wind mills! Both are great but my favorite is the second one, the close-up, which as a superb composition.

Louis, tell me more about the Angenieux lens, first time I have heard about them, the detail and contrast is really quite lovely, especially as B&W

Angenieux is a French lens maker. They mostly made  lenses for professional movie cameras in Hollywood  and even won academy award for best technical achievement ( also for NASA ). They also made a few lenses for photo cameras. But they are very rare and highly priced. I both mine a few years ago in Paris with Nikon mount to use with my Nikon cameras. In that time, with f/2.5,  it was the fastest zoom of its category in the market. As I am using my manual Nikkor lenses with the little T, I can also use this zoom via the Nikon to T adapter. The result is not bad as you can see, but it is quite big on T as you can see in following photo. T with Angenieux are as big as SL with 24-90! :) Not long ago,  I was offered $3000 for this lens, but I just couldn't get rid of it! :)

Oh, BTW; since you are mentioning the contrast and details, to be fair, I must add that as I am always shooting in RAW, I have to make some adjustment in PP after!

You are right Louis - I had to look twice.  When posted on this site at 450 kb  @ 1200/700  they do not hold the sharpness..  I can assure you that at full resolution they look fine. Check out DP post today  .. at the higher resolutions they hold together much better.  Also keep in mind the close up plants are 3' away while the Fort is 50 yards out .. .. in truth, only one plane is ever actually in focus.

I know Rick, this site is completely screwing up shots; more specially when the original file is heavy in size, colors, shapes and resolution, etc!... It happens very often to me to realize how my posted shots become deteriorated!

Agreed.  On some shots it is not a problem.. on these however, it is disturbingly noticeable.  (A small price to pay for being in this wonderful group of photographers.)
