Uniforms!

As I noticed we have lots of nature shots in this forum, I thought maybe I should also post some portraits for a change. ;)

These shots were taken in Washington DC during a gathering of police officers at the Capitol.

Leica T, Nikkor 85 mm.

They are all very good but I particularly liked these two!

Thank you.

Lovely set of shots Louis, very nice.

All at max aperture, or down a stop or two? (just trying to work out how you focus them if you stop down as well).

Gary

Thank you very much, Gary.

As I was not aware of the different events in DC, I was not prepared and had a wrong lens with me. As you know, it is very difficult to shoot moving subjects with a MF 85 mm that makes around 130 mm on a ASP-C sensor, and the distance between apertures are very narrow. Therefore, impossible to wide open the lens for moving subjects.

For the portraits, I think I had between f/5.6 and f/8, as I did want to show a little background, and you cannot see it in these shots, it was a very busy place and I had to shoot fast.

For the wounded warrior shots, I really didn't have time to focus, therefore, had my aperture between f/8 and f/11 (depending on my distance with subjects) in order to have more depth of field. But still, I could not have anything perfectly in focus!...

I sure wish I had my AF zoom with me! ;)

We just got back from a trip to Rochester New York.  Deb's Son is the Brewmaster at Roc Brewery so we had a flight or two of his beers.  Leica T - 11-23 zoom,  1/80th - wide open @f 3.5.

This was at the Craft fair - mobile made of spoons.  Voigtlander  Heliar 50mm at f 2.8.  I really enjoy the Bokeh from this lens.

She wasn't even wearing makeup!

"Sheriff; you are cute!" I told her.

She smiled and thanked me.... I couldn't go any further; there was a huge crowd around us! :(

Leica T and Voigtlander 21 1.8 @1.8

A hazy day in Florida, today.

The voigtlander 21 1.8 is a pleasure to use on the T.

Almost everything is in focus and it seems to have excellent IQ.

Rather than post a few more shots here I will start another thread in case anyone is considering this particular lens.

It really looks to be an amazing lens. The sharpness, details, texture, colors and even the bokeh are excellent!

I am very impressed with the Voigtlander on the T. Yes, lots of ca, but I find that to be in the case with many of my lenses in general in the Florida sky. Also, the compression is 'killing' the IQ which is pretty impressive.

I just wonder: might the c.a.issue also be because one cannot select a lens profile in the T menu?

Some blooming chives with T and Noctilux 1.0. By the way, whatever compression they use when downloading sure unsharps the original. Any suggestions on how to improve that would be welcome.
