This old pump was just sat rusting in front of this old building, I was lucky to get away with this at 1/20 but was propped up against a railing

This was just lying around in my friends yard and with the obscured light it was the best I could get from it.

Now I had predominately gone to take some Astrophotography with some daylight photography thrown in, I took in my luggage a Skywatcher Adventurer Motorised mount, I might as well have not bothered, I never actually got to see the Milky Way whatsoever as the Sahara Sand Storm obliterated the skies at night and bounced any visible light.

I also had a major problem with my 11/23 Lens which has now been sent back to Leica in Germany and I discovered loads of problems with the Leica App for the iOS which I think was because of the CCD getting hot (Leica UK think this is possible as well)

Anyway the Friday night was our last night and the skies were responding to some rain the day before dragging all the dust out of it, I took about 100 images so that I could stack the better ones, but......my polar alignment had gone out, probably because of my clumsy feet knocking the tripod and I didn't notice it until I viewed the images on my laptop inside in the warm, it was now 01:30, I was cold and very much cheesed off and had to be up for 07:00 to drive to the airport, do I say stuff it and wait until another visit or go back outside and try and grab what was left of the Milky Way after doing another polar alignment, I chose the later and moved everything outside again, fortunately Polaris was easily visible and I got alignment straight off.

I had to guess where the MW was as Orion was fast sinking under the horizon, I didn't bother with any darks, bias's or flats and just went for 12 straight Subs (Light frames only)

I haven't had a chance to fully drag all the info out of the raw images and there is some weird red casting coming from the after glow of Granada's light pollution, but I did manage to catch a reasonable image that is full of interest, this was a composite of 12 photo's joined together in the program Nebulosity, perhaps next time with a wider lens I will manage to capture it in all its glory.

These 12 images were at f3.8 30 seconds ISO800, the trees are blurred as the mount was in use to keep a focus on the stars to prevent star trails.

I'll post a little more about the problems with the camera in the main section.

Many critics fault the Leica T for its poor performance at ISOs above 1600.  What they fail to realize is that it is possible to shoot this camera at low speeds without blur due to the anti vibration solid body and extremely smooth shutter.  This is hand held at 1/40th of a second  with a 90mm equivalent Nikor macro lens. 1/40th is no big deal, but I can shoot confidently at that speed and many on this forum will shoot at even lower speeds down to a 1/10th handheld.

+1. My experience too.

Greeting to everybody,

I am a new T user.  I had just traded in my Fujifilm X-T1 for a Leica T, and my beautiful T arrived yesterday.  Earlier today, I took my beautiful T out for our first date.  Here is a photo from our first date using 28mm Elmarit-R:

Welcome to the world of T. I love the simplicity, a delight to use.

Where in the world is that Cartier store?

Thomas Moran

A typical “Rocky Mountains” style painting by Thomas Moran who was born in the UK but lived in the US and is known as an American artist - between 19th and 20th century!

I have been away from this site for sometimes due to some family obligations. But I hope to be back soon with some new photos. Meanwhile, this is a picture from last year that I shot in the Smithsonian Museum of American Art; with T and Nikkor 28 mm I believe.

Dumpster "Art"! ;)

Sometimes, we can see some very interesting shapes and colors on the most unusual places! I noticed this sort of  "Abstract Art" on an old and dirty dumpster along a street and shot it with Nikkor 50 mm on my T. :)

Good eye there Louis!

Meanwhile, I have barely used my Leica T 11-23 zoom, lens but I did manage one outing in St Maarten last month.  It is really quite sharp across the entire zoom range .. and of course the colors are Leica all the way.  Ultra wide focal length lenses are challenging for me .. they make composition extremely complex in my opinion.

Rick, I love the rendering of this lens. The IQ and colors are really wonderful. Everybody who has this lens loves it. Although I am not much of a wide angle shooter, I am beginning to get more interested in this lens.
