Rick, I have the Nikkor 28 mm ( the AI manual version) and it is a fantastic glass; one of the best 28 mm. The sharpness is incredible. My only reason for not using it more often is that I can't get the kind of bokeh that I like!... your shots are just wonderful!

Louis,

I enjoy using the lens.  I like that it focuses very close - 6" I believe.  My intent was to have a general walk-around lens that also  gets fairly close for mushrooms and lichens which are often my subjects.  I am not sure yet about the overall IQ - I am really addicted to the Zeiss micro contrast and colors.

This is a sample of a shot taken with Nikkor 28 mm on Leica T. This is an old AI (manual) lens made in early 70s, but still very usable, giving me some decent results.

Banning the “Ban” in Washington DC.

Just to remind, I am not expressing any political views; only reporting an event!

Very good shots, Louis! Keep 'em coming! You're our man in Washington now with an important job to do documenting these events in that wonderful direct style of yours.

As usual, it's well worth following your link to see more of your coverage.

Much appreciated, dear Robert; thank you so much for your encouraging words.

After the last election in the US, I believe we will have many busy days ahead!... But I also have the feeling people are already tired of this kind of images!... There is, for sure, a big "dynamic" in the streets, but I don't see much interest in the "photo websites"! ...

Also, I am trying my best to remain as "Neutral" as a "Photographer" could be, without expressing my own feelings and just documenting the event! As some may say, no politics in a photography site!!!....

But frankly, isn't anything in our life the consequences of a "Policy"?.... How could anyone be insensitive of our environment?... Isn't photography a form of expression, and documentation? ...

I hope the so called "Photography Websites" would consider all these issues before making and imposing their rules and regulations!...

I have always been a strong opponent of censorship, and in favor of a complete freedom of expression!... But when I see threads locked, or posters warned (!!!), that reminds me exactly of what is beginning now in the US; and, it is not acceptable! ...

I am sure you understand what I mean!...

Yes my friends.. this is a photo forum.. We take photographs that make interesting images.. hopefully we capture the Human condition, current events, or perhaps Human emotion.  We are living in volitile times - capturing those times is certainly an appropriate and meaningful  task for a photographer.

Meanwhile, I have traded lenses and ended up with a Nikon 55mm Micro f 2.8 AI-s fully manual lens.  It mounts quite nicely on the T with adapters.  This was just color and texture that caught my eye - actually my dinner salad.  Handheld 1/40th sec wide open.

I spent many years taking photographs for a famous botanist - Sam Ristich.  During those times, I became interested in Fungus, Lichens etc. as photo subjects.  I still like to photograph what I call 'Natural Still Life' scenes.  This lens is fast enough and sharp enough to allow me to walk about the woods and capture what interests me.
