Louis, I looked at your technicolour shop window, and at upper right saw the word "tat" on the pink bag.

According to urbandictionary.com, "tat" means "rubbish", "junk", a description that some shrewd shoppers would apply to such shop items.

Just curious: In your shot, was the inclusion (highlighting) of the word "tat" coincidence or genius?

No need to be modest.

John, I checked the full version of the original shot and noticed that "tat" is part of the shadow of a sentence that you can see in gray above the pink bag, on the glass window. The definition of the large files (mostly from details or colors) is very badly reduced to be posted in this site; therefore, they loose all their details!

It seems that the sentence is "Give it a twist..."; and, you can only see the shadow of the middle part on the bag! :)

The lovely web! …

To see more of this amusing event that they call “Fantasy fest”, in Key West, Florida; you are welcome to visit my gallery at

http://objectif.zenfolio.com/p565675227#h344ad98e

For all these shots, I used T with whether Nikkor 28 mm, or Angenirux 35-70 mm.

I also had to use the on- board little T flash for the first time, and to be honest, although the result is not "ideal", I was pleasantly surprised by the performance. I don’t like using flash but I did not have any other choice! ;)

Louis,

I trust you'll return asap to do a lens comparison with the 18-56, of course?

Hehehe, dear Rob, I admit that if I had a AF lens during this unexpected event, I could have much better photos! But I guarantee you,  after a little while, you get tired of all that flesh, paints and silicons!... ;)

That said, I am seriously considering to move to Miami in couple of years. Miami was my very first city when I landed from Europe to the American Continent, at the University of Miami; and, Miami could well be my last residence on this earth! :D  I am so fed up with cold weather, and I just love sun and sea!...

I've been here for more than 30 years, after growing up in Ct.  Could never go back to the cold winters, and mine in Ct. were "tropical" compared to Rick's in Maine!  Feel free to reach out to me should you need any help/advice with areas to live, etc. . . . I don't think you'll regret your decision.

… which shows that with a little planning and knowledge / awareness, the T can be a very capable 'event camera'.
