Couple more shots from my converted Infrared T.  These were with a 35mm Summicron V4 - non Aspherical lens.  By the way, tested my 28mm Summicron and its no good for Infrared as had a hot spot.  But this one worked, and earlier tested a Summilux 35mm and that was alright as well for Infrared.   Also, didn't exactly take a lot of time with these as had my dog on leash that was constantly tugging at me!

Gary, this is really a wonderful shot. The details and colors are superb.

I was looking at the Q and SL forums, and seriously, I didn't find those photos being better or "superior" from those we have in T forum!... Ok, ok,... they are larger files and maybe better for printing in large sizes, but really! ...

Beautiful set Louis.  Incidentally, rose has very peculiar out-of-focus rendering on the petals.  Is it a characteristic of the Nikkor?

Thanks very much, Viskas. My lens was wide open, therefore very narrow DOF. There was a very harsh sun and I tried to have my shadow over the flower to open my lens that was focused in the center of the rose.

You certainly got the focus spot on on the centre of the rose.  This type of photograph is where I too usually find auto-focus is very problematic - much easier with a manual focus lens!

When the lens is wide open and you are focusing manually so close, the problem (at least for me) is that if you move a tiny bit to left, right, or any other direction, the picture becomes completely out of focus!... I always try to hold my breath, but it doesn't always work! ;)

Use the three legged friend then Louis, I do, allows me a bit of ISO leeway or allows me to stop down a tad, if I want/need.

The three legged friend is not always piratical to carry, dear Gary!... Actually, I almost never use it unless it is for macro or sunrise photography!... ;)

I never know what I am going to shoot when I go out; so, I try to be as "light" as I can! ;)

There's always the 'Yorkshireman's monopod' : A piece of string attached to a ¼" bolt - screw into the camera, tie the string around your foot - and pull tight! And there's a commercially available adjustable version with a ratchet which is pocketable.
