Well JP, that's really in your face, very very nice.

The differing colours, they are from the street lighting?

Beautiful.

Gary

Thanks Gary. As you can see, the clock face and the surrounding galleries have their own lighting

OK, new (to me) T is here, and I am loving the renewed acquaintance.

No lenses, nor Visoflex, both can come at a later time. Using the M and R lenses I have.

Wet day, not raining for the short time it took to snap a couple of shots in the garden, but hurried they were.

Used the Leica Summicron R 35mm, as it focused the closest of the lenses I have. The M lenses while smaller etc, don't focus as close.

Simple JPEG's from the camera, very slight curves, then reduced to fit the forum. Not as simple/convenient as the X-Vario, but still an enjoyable experience.

And in replicating a picture I took a few days ago with my R8 and R28-70, took this with the T and R35/2. Posted in the I Like Film thread.

Ran it through a similar Silver EfexPro process.

Thank you Louis, and thank you all.

Not sure what to do with respect to lenses, I tend to blast off in a hurry. I think on this occasion I might just take my time and play.

The 11-23 is beckoning, but I sometimes wonder if I could achieve a similar result with the likes of the CV15mm, and or the CV12mm, or both. In a bag with the Elmarit 28, and the Summicron 50. Four lenses, all small and unobtrusive.

BUT........... manual focus, manual exposure, and without the undeniable flexibility and simplicity of the zoom(s).

What a dilemma, how lucky we are.

Same day, no change in the weather or conditions. Wet, and darker, late afternoon. So, everything against me.

Tried the Leica Vario-Elmar R 28-70, it is a nice lens on the R8, and while it doesn't really go that close, still closer than the M lenses I have.

No tripod, and low light, like I said, everything against me.

Ran them through the same Silver Efex Pro as well, I'll not overdo this as one could possibly tire of it.

Sunflowers on a dull day

It was a rainy and dark day. I just had time for a few shots between two storms. Also, manual focusing was extremely hard because of a strong wind!

These are great, Tony; thanks for sharing them.

Thanks Louis, I've been out of the photo mood for a while, much stress renovating an old property which in the end we gave up due to much cost. Perhaps I can recapture the "mojo"going forward. The DPR is not what it was, so I thought I would post a few pics here for a change. Hope all is well with you and yours. Tony.

Love your use of the R 35! I need to use mine more. On the T and the M246. Thinking about picking up a used R28 Elmarit.

Really great to hear from you, my friend. I hope things will be going better for you. Yes, dpr is not becoming enjoyable at all. The new members are destroying it instead improving it. Here, in LUF, I am more often in this "T" forum and less on the other forums where people are very nice, but I just don't share most of their views about photography!... Also, lots of junks!...

Thanks BBL.

I did think to "compare" the R35/2, to the M35/2 I have. In respect of size, well, there is no comparison, my M35/2 would be smaller than the required R - T adapter let alone the lens. I'll do this at some stage.

Handling-wise, and assuming one doesn't have to walk too far though, the R35 (and even the humble R28-70) work just fine. On my first T I used my older V1 R50/2, as I have a couple of Elpro lenses for it.

It's the wider end that stumps me, I would like 12mm or 15mm, or 18mm. Not too much (not that I can afford anyway) within the Leica range. It could mean just buy the 11-23mm?
