Some people are just so lucky.  There's a lady on YouTube who bought a 1953 IIIf, 135mm f4.5 lens, 35mm f3.5, 50mm f1.5, clear lens filter, yellow lens filter, and viewfinder all for $10!

probably 10 Australian $ - Oprah has an Australian accent

Am I wrong, or she (around 1.03 - 1.06) describes Hektor as "a zoom lens" ? 😁

Yes, and a filter as a "cover" and a "lens" and has no idea that that is a Summarit lens hood. Somebody should direct her to this forum. ;) She wouldn't be the first novice to be sucked into the Leica vortex.

Lucky finds are possible, but nothing here beats the first IIId which was bought for about $10 and sold recently for 40,000 Euro. It passed through this forum earlier this year on its way to achieving that amount. And note that we did not give an estimate of value on the forum in accordance with the 'house rules'.

What is that black thing she shows at 3:09?

Lens hood for the Summarit 5 cm that is part of her lucky kit... version with clamp screw, to be precise...  There's also a filter for the Summarit  (they were different from other filters, due to "odd" front size of the lens)

I have tried with a message on the youtube page... 😎  (I hope the name of our forum is not "sensitive"...) ; she looks a pleasant woman and there are so few in the Forum...

(and she 's going on on the learning curve...) 😉

Welcome Rueben !!  if tou like to take some pictures with... we have lot of advices for you (and docs to address to)... it can be perceived as an "odd device" to a newbie, but at the end is simply a film camera... 😄). And if you don't intend to take pictures with it... keep it given that you love it.... you are not the one... all in this forum do share your sentiment... ☺️
