GFW2-SCUSA Posted November 4, 2020 Share #1  Posted November 4, 2020 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have just bought a used Leica Elmar -M 2.8 21mm ASPH Lens and I can't find any information on this lens.  It is NOT an Elmarit, it is marked ELMAR and is f2.8 ASPH.  Can anyone tell me what I have? Is it a fake? Is it mis-labled? Thanks! George

a.noctilux Posted November 4, 2020 Share #2 Â Posted November 4, 2020 Interesting ... Can we see some pitures of the lens ? like this one ? https://www.l-camera-forum.com/leica-wiki.en/index.php/21mm_f/2.8_ASPH_Elmarit-M or https://www.l-camera-forum.com/leica-wiki.en/index.php/21mm_f/3.4_ASPH_Super-Elmar-M
GFW2-SCUSA Posted November 4, 2020 Author Share #3 Â Posted November 4, 2020 It seems the lens has an engraving error. Â It was pointed out to me that there is space after "Elmar..." for the "it" but it was not engraved. So I wonder if it has value as a collector's oddity beyond the value of the lens. lct Posted November 4, 2020 Share #4 Â Posted November 4, 2020 My Elmarit-M 21/2.8 asph is 3947*** as well. Looks exactly like yours besides the engraving error.
