fotografr Posted October 25, 2020 Share #5 Posted October 25, 2020 Gary, this is a truly beautiful image. I don't like female nudes posted for obvious sexual titillation as they often end up looking like a still from a porn film. This photograph is just a beautiful figure study of a beautiful woman and is done with obvious respect. The lighting is excellent and the pose is relaxed and natural. It is pure art. Congratulations! Cheers, Brent

It seems that the optimum distance wide open is about 6 feet and beyond and the center is definitely sharper than the edges. It is a heavy lens but the price is right and when you need the extra speed I think it's worth having it in the bag. Otherwise, my 50mm Summicron is the lens I reach for when I need both great performance and reduced weight.

Beautiful lens. One of my dumbest moves was selling mine after acquiring the 50 APO. The version III has more pleasing characteristics and is not so clinical. But I discovered that too late. If you don't mind sharing, can you let me know what lighting setup you used? I'm assuming at least one LED non-flash triggered lighting?

If you don't mind sharing, can you let me know what lighting setup you used? I'm assuming at least one LED non-flash triggered lighting? Hi dkmoore, sure, I am happy to share my lighting setup. Katarina was illuminated by the modeling lights of my Speedotron flash setup. A softbox was to the right of the subject, A 27 inch beauty dish was on a boom arm directly in front of and slightly above the subject, and there was a backlight lighting the cloth backdrop. There was also a 42 inch reflector on the left side of the subject to help fill shadows. This was the first test of the TTArtisans lens, and I wanted to see if I could shoot at base ISO with my M240 wide open at f0.95 at a shutter speed that i could hand hold. I was using this flash lighting setup to shoot 4x5 inch B&W portraits of Katarina.
