Hold fire on updating the iPad version. I can’t see any of my files that are supposed to be in the cloud, somewhere.

Backup your stuff yourself and don’t rely on any two-bit software house to do it for you is my advice...

I don’t really use the Photoshop app on my iPad heavily. I usually just import something from Photos, fiddle with in Photoshop and then export it somewhere.

Just had a look at the cloud version of PS on my Mac. It's turned into an absolute nightmare.

It too has lost a load of photographs - only the first album I set up when I first started renting it is available and that's in date order, starting in 2006. So I have to download literally thousands of thumbnails just to get to find out what the last file is.

I knew that I was a mistake going to the cloud.

The only things I put on the Adobe Cloud are files I might want to have on both the computer and the iPad.  And I use a different folder for the files to be synced.  I would never allow Adobe access to my storage drives.

The thing that really burns me is that the iPad is a powerful computing device that is ruined by using an telephone operating system.  We really need an iPad OS based on MacOS, not on iOS.

One does not imply the other. It might be not too difficult to implement a layer within a Unix OS in which an IOS app could be executed.

Not really, the interface will be like the current Mac OS, it’s just the chipset that’s changing. The ability to run iOS apps will be a plus, but you don’t have to use them if you don’t want to.

I would rather Apple go the other way so that you could run MacOS apps on an iPad Pro.

Well, the iPad Pro is easily powerful enough to run Mac OS or Mac apps, but the question is how easily would they be to use with a touch interface, and then there is the question of how much storage there is on an iPad - a maximum of 1 gig would be pretty tight for programs and data.

The Magic Keyboard has a touch pad as well as a decent keyboard.  I don't think touch screen would be needed for many macOS apps.  Here are the questions I would like to ask Apple.

Would it hurt so bad to make the iPad Pro a few mm's thicker so one could put more RAM into it?

Would it hurt so bad to add touch screen drivers to macOS so that app developers could introduce touch controls for cross platform use?  (similar to the way Apple forced app developers to implement the Touch Bar on MacBook Pro.)

And to not let Adobe off the hook, would it hurt so bad to give us a Camera Raw Filter in Photoshop for iPad?  (Camera Raw is already on my iPad as it is the Develop module in Lightroom for iPad.  I realize Camera Raw doesn't have neural networks or machine learning or artificial intelligence to make it sound glamorous.)

Here's a quick conversion. I ran it through the filter and while not perfect I don't think it's too bad.

The AI behind this system doesn't seem to have encountered vegetables before.

This started life as a colour negative, and looking at the original scan the tomatoes to the right were red, the veg in the middle was indeed yellow, and the courgettes to the left were green. The courgettes and tomatoes in the background haven’t been done very well, but in its defence it’s a beta filter and I’m guessing it will get better in time. Or not.

There seems to be a tendency for the results to be under saturated and somewhat brown. A perfect metaphor for 2020.
