bdp5 Posted September 29, 2020 Share #1 Posted September 29, 2020 Advertisement (gone after registration) Got a pretty sweet deal on a pair of these bad boys with goggles for my M3. Only issue is the image is vertically misaligned in the rangefinder (horizontally it is fine). I’ve seen posts ranging from it is an easy fix to send it off to an expert, so I thought I’d get your pulse as well. If easily fixable, can anyone point me to a guide or tutorial? Advertisement Posted September 29, 2020 Posted September 29, 2020 Hi bdp5, Take a look here Summaron 35mm Goggles - Fix?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Jean-Michel Posted September 29, 2020 Share #2 Posted September 29, 2020 (edited) If your rangefinder shows no issues with the vertical alignment with your other lenses, then the 'easy' vertical adjustment is not the solution. Calibrating the goggles is not a do-it-yourself job. Assuming that the prints from your images show that the focus is otherwise OK, then you can perhaps just live with the annoyance of the vertical misalignment. If you need the goggles adjusted, then you should send your lens to a reputable Leica specialist. If you are in Canada or the USA, DAG has an excellent reputation ( he adjusted a goggled 35 Summicron for me). His contact information is: https://www.dagcamera.com/contact.html. If in Europe or Asia, ask for advice from forum members from those continents. Edited September 29, 2020 by Jean-Michel typo
