Stephen.s1 Posted March 10, 2021 Share #81 Posted March 10, 2021 Advertisement (gone after registration) What's the story on those seats? The type 37 Bugatti reminds me of being offered a complete car for $2500.00 and a basket case for 1500.00. I was a poor kid in 1952... Sighs... John Z. Goriup Posted March 11, 2021 Author Share #83 Posted March 11, 2021 I too was intrigued by those things. Like all other cars, the Huayra is equipped with 'normal' 3-point seatbelts, but since this is essentially only a thinly disguised race car which is frequently used on the track, a set of five-point harnesses is included when you purchase one of these. The 'button' in the seat cushion is the central anchor point for the racing harness and is designed to not get in the way when the car is used in more docile road driving duties. If you should find yourself on the roof, stuck in a gravel run-off area or find yourself unable to get out of the car, rescue workers or first responder merely have to slap the shiny button to release all the harness tabs so they can pull you out. John Z. Goriup Posted March 16, 2021 Author Share #84 Posted March 16, 2021 A fairly rare option available on '60 & '61 Pontiac models - Kelsey - Hayes two piece wheels, with the center section supporting the steel rim and containing the brake drum. Last time I saw a set of these was on a '61 Pontiac Catalina 421 lightweight 2-door sedan which was the first new car I ever purchased. SL /' 16-35 S.V.E. JZG Welcome, dear visitor! John Z. Goriup Posted October 6, 2021 Author Share #93 Posted October 6, 2021 ...............and a 3/4 rear view. BTW, the car is a lot smaller than the best & most popular car SIATA produced, the 208. This necessitaed the odd-looking roll bar, which looks far taller than you would think it needs to be, until one notices the location of the helmet pad, where the driver's head rests, illustrating just how tiny this thing really is. John Z. Goriup Posted November 30, 2021 Author Share #99 Posted November 30, 2021 I recall someone mentioning not long ago that the LEICA forum might benefit from the addittion of an ' Automotive thread', or something along those lines. Sometimes it's awkward to put something automotively connected in the 'Sports & Leisure' forum, and just as inappropriate to put these posts into the 'Technology & Industry' forum, yet I believe there is sufficient interest in the subject to warrant its own forum. To support this request, here's a perfect example of the type of image which will remain essentially 'homeless' until a proper place for these photos is provided and utilized. A 1957 Chevrolet 2-door sedan with the top, trunk and sides of a 1951 Fleetline sedan grafted on. Beside the imprerssive metal-working skills this customizer displayed, I think the seamless, natural way this modification works & seems to be able to integrate two wholly different generations of car design is admirable. Well done ! SL / 24-90 V.E. JZG Welcome, dear visitor!
