Shashinka Posted August 24, 2020 Share #1 Posted August 24, 2020 Advertisement (gone after registration) Apologies if this topic is already in the system by me, but for some reason I could not find what I had posted. Anyway the issue I seem to be having since updating the firmware to v2.0 is that I have had a couple of crashes, or my camera locking up. The on/off button does nothing, the OLED display and LCD are still on. The only remedy to reset is to remove the battery. So far its happened 3 times. Anybody else experiencing this? I suspect your SD card may be the culprit. I had similar issues until I changed SD cards. Try a different SD card. Another point to consider- are you perhaps using the same card that you downloaded the firmware to & if so did you format the card afterwards? Both cards are newer than the upgrade, both Sony Tough G Series. I will reformat them again and keep and eye out. The upgrade was done and nothing untoward happened until a couple of weeks ago. Its not a frequent issue which is more frustrating and harder to isolate.

If my memory serves me correctly (I may be wrong) I seem to remember reading somewhere that there were issues with the Sony Tough cards. Edit- Here's a link regarding a recall on Sony cards, the problem appears to apply to video, but could be an issue in any event- Sony Recalls TOUGH SD Cards Due to Data Corruption For good measure try another brand of card & see if the problem comes up again. Thank you again. I did see this issue a while back and checked my cards were not part of the recall. I agree, perhaps a time using my other Sandisk cards to see if the issue is still there.
Simsseer Posted August 25, 2020 Share #6 Posted August 25, 2020 @michali Thank you very much for the hint. One of my four Sony Tough SD cards was from a faulty batch. I initiated the exchange via the German branch.
Simsseer Posted September 7, 2020 Share #7 Posted September 7, 2020 Advertisement (gone after registration) Within 14 days after the first contact I received a replacement card from another production batch. What surprised me was that this card and the plastic case were not in the original packaging in which the cards were found when I bought them new. I hope the error will not occur again. Max EPR Posted September 7, 2020 Share #8 Posted September 7, 2020 I am also having similar SL2 lockup issues. Although not for the past 5 days since I followed the Leica Service suggestion to reformat my 128GB V90 Sony and ProGrade cards with "SD Card Formatter" https://www.sdcard.org/downloads/formatter/. Hopefully this solved the issue.

After 4 months of life of my SL2 sent today to Leica Wetzlar for repeated blockages........ still hard to believe that this could happen to such an expensive camera. I also replaced the SDXC with the most expensive ones on the market
