Reini Posted August 16, 2020 Share #2 Posted August 16, 2020 But that's not very annoying, is it? If you have the right tools, you may be able to clean them yourself. If only there was dust on the frame or prism. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=KbtqDd-4qPI

Reini Posted August 16, 2020 Share #4 Posted August 16, 2020 I say carefully: it is not a Fungus. Maybe watch a while if it gets bigger?
TomB_tx Posted August 16, 2020 Share #5 Posted August 16, 2020 I had similar fiber/lint in the 50 frame lines on an M3. I finally sent it to a tech for a CLA after the shutter started dragging, and it came back not only with the material gone, but the VF was much brighter / higher contrast than I had ever seen it. I had previously sent my M6 off to upgrade the finder with the RF patch "flare fix" and new multicoated windows, and it is now the best VF of any of my M bodies (except maybe the M10). So you might consider such work while you are at it. I agree, the matter in the frame lines is distracting enough to get it fixed, and I wouldn't consider it a DIY job, although I have repaired a number of cameras. 250swb Posted August 17, 2020 Share #6 Posted August 17, 2020 Tempt it out with food then quickly put a box over it.
Steve Ricoh Posted August 17, 2020 Share #7 Posted August 17, 2020 Advertisement (gone after registration) I couldn’t live with it either so would have it cleaned, and possibly a full cla. The main problem though is that most of the repair guys in the U.K. are snowed under with long , l-o-n-g response times, running to several months. I’ve heard ApertureUK are perhaps ahead of the rest. (I have no connection with the company.)
250swb Posted August 17, 2020 Share #8 Posted August 17, 2020 (edited) Maybe I'm getting over complicated but maybe the first thing to try would be a blast of compressed air into the film chamber and see if it percolates up and around the frameline mech to shift the bug? No, I don't mean a Rocket blower. Edited August 17, 2020 by 250swb
Reini Posted August 17, 2020 Share #9 Posted August 17, 2020 Blowing it in at the bottom doesn't do anything. That is absolutely tight at the top.
