rumple Posted August 13, 2007 Share #1 Posted August 13, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi everyone, I have searched on this site (and the web) and have only come up with Luigi's half leather case for the Digilux 2, and although this is a mighty fine case i was hoping to find a FULL case (preferably with a removable front panel like the cameras of old that usually had a popper on the bottom and top...) Anyone found anything like this?

dugby Posted August 14, 2007 Share #2 Posted August 14, 2007 Hi Matt, welcome to the forum. As you may know the D2 is identical to the Panasonic LC1. As such the LC1 case is perfect for the D2. I bought the following Lumix Ever Ready case off ebay.....for about US$45. They are hard to find... Welcome, dear visitor! dugby Posted August 14, 2007 Share #3 Posted August 14, 2007 Another case I just bought for my D3 / L1 is the "Crumpler Zieube" I have found this to be brilliant as it does not scream out "CAMERA - CAMERA" and the D2 also fits nicely into this one.... Got it from ebay for about US$20 Welcome, dear visitor! As registered member you'd see an image here… Simply register for free here – We are always happy to welcome new members! farnz Posted August 14, 2007 Share #4 Posted August 14, 2007 Hi everyone, I have searched on this site (and the web) and have only come up with Luigi's half leather case for the Digilux 2, and although this is a mighty fine case i was hoping to find a FULL case (preferably with a removable front panel like the cameras of old that usually had a popper on the bottom and top...) Anyone found anything like this? Matt, I have to admit to being slightly confused by your post because Luigi makes a full case that sounds like what you're looking for. The top connects to the half case using Luigi's unique slide-on catch. I have the full case and it is excellent, typical of all of Luigi's cases. (And, no, I'm not connected to Luigi or his business.) Pete. (Apologies to Luigi for use of the photo but under the circumstances ... ) Welcome, dear visitor! marknorton Posted August 14, 2007 Share #5 Posted August 14, 2007 I use a bag from Crumpler which goes under the slightly naff name of "Pretty Boy". Much better than the proper Leica version which the camera doesn't really fit. I wonder how many people use the "Ever Ready Case", acronymed for years as "ERC", these days. I nearly fell into the trap of buying one for the M8, then remembered I have one for my M6 which is pristine and unused. The last thing I need is another case or bag which isn't going to be used. TEBnewyork Posted August 14, 2007 Share #6 Posted August 14, 2007 There was one made by Leica. I have it but no longer have the D2 and would be willing to sell it (but first I have to find it). It was quite nice but I found it a pain to use as it was not fast to take the camera out.

symmetron Posted October 20, 2010 Share #8 Posted October 20, 2010 I have the three D2 case arrangements: 1.The D2 Leica case; it's actually a bag and somewhat bulky. It's zippered on the top and the zipper can scratch the body if you're not careful. Works with the hood attached. It was about $180. 2. Instead of the case, I also use a Zing neoprene SLR wrap/cover (the one piece kind that wraps around the body and the lens fits through case when secured). Hood doesn't fit with this. About $25. 3. I also have the the Leica M8 Neoprene case "with large front" (#14868) which fits the D2 very well, but without the hood. About $60. I rarely use #1. Generally use #2 or #3 as I don't use the hood anymore; it's too bulky and I haven't seen any degradation although it's anathema not to use the hood. k_g_wolf ✝ Posted October 20, 2010 Share #9 Posted October 20, 2010 Will Digilux 2 fit in X1 System Case? >> jungbum No chance to put a D2 into the X1- halfcase, they are totally different beasts. As others have pointed out above - esp. Pete pointing towards LEICAtime - there are options. This Luigi-case had a tough life so far and went on 3 bicycle-tours since 2007 (app. 5.000 km in all) and is still fine. As is the camera. robbD2 Posted December 1, 2012 Share #11 Posted December 1, 2012 I use 2 cases. Standard M Neoprene soft case 14867..a pretty tight fit for a D2 + filter but adds little bulk & no weight. The case is too small for D2 with lens cap tho. V-Lux 2 Outdoor Case 18721...great fit without strap & with filter attached...quite manageable with just a lens cap. The front pocket can house a hood & battery comfortably + an E69 filter case at a pinch.

stuny Posted December 4, 2012 Share #14 Posted December 4, 2012 I just use a soft cloth bag, which I do for all my cameras and some lenses.
jrethorst Posted December 5, 2012 Share #15 Posted December 5, 2012 These recommendations are for mostly form-fitting cases, but there are a few bags mentioned and the X1 system case. That being the case, take a look at this alternative: Tough Case for the Digilux
