jrethorst Posted September 28, 2009 Share #1 Posted September 28, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) The beautiful leather satchel cases shown in the thread "Digilux 2 page updated - and secrets revealed!" prompted me to take pix of my alternative. I shoot outdoors a lot and wanted a tough, even waterproof case for the kit. So I found a Pelican (I'm not affiliated) case, model 1200 in yellow (easy to see if you drop it overboard), that just manages to hold all the gear, nicely nestled in foam. Your layout ideas may vary, but this one is (clockwise from top left) SD cards in plastic cases, white balance lens cap (not the Expodisc, but a $7.95 equivalent), Lumix closeup lens and round lens cap, two batteries, and translucent cases for polarizer, ND and UV filters. Overgaard Posted September 28, 2009 Share #2 Posted September 28, 2009 Ha ha, that's nice. The Pelican cases are great in the way that you don't have to worry about your gear for water, dust or anything. It's a safe feeling (I drove mine over with the car once because I forgot it was standing behind the car) I prefer them with dividers so you can change gear setup. But I guess foam works the best in a smaller case. Chris Weeks who can currently be seen in his 41 minutes documentary on M9 and street photography once called it "The Cult of Leica" - and I guess if there ever was a cult, it would be the Digilux 2 cult.
