My new (to me) M10's frame line selector lever and its attaching screw went missing!  Not sure when/how/where but they are gone.  Where would I get a replacement lever and screw?  Never had that happen on my previous Leicas (M2, M6, M7) but some loctite will be in the cards when I acquire the new parts!

Sent a message to Leica...they responded quickly - I was impressed!  OTOH,  they suggested I contact, "Leica Stores, Leica authorized dealers, the Leica User Forum, and product pages on the Leica website."  :)

Neato!  Sent a message directly to Leica customer service and just got a message back; they are sending me a lever and screw! :)

Wonderful service - what we’ve come to expect, I guess! Strangely enough, my camera’s lever and screw became detached too; I have those, but lost the rest..   ..do you think Leica would send me a new M10 body? 😳

They might send one of those discontinued black/silver models!  :)

Black / silver / dark green..   ..I’m not bothered - it’s only a box to hold film, after all..

Can't accuse Leica of "under packing."  I received my frame lever/screw today.  Here's a pic of the lever/screw in it's little envelope and the box it came in.  The bubble wrap that filled the box to protect the lever/screw is not shown in the pic.  :)

They did not charge me for the lever/screw or the shipping.  When I advised that the lever had gone missing, they apologized for that and sent the lever/screw at no cost to me!  Pretty cool considering it was a used camera, not purchased by me or under warranty.

My brand new M10 lost its lever and screw within minutes of unpacking.

The local agent in Melbourne did not have any as it is too new.

As I was going to the LHSA meeting at Wetzlar I took the M10 and the lever was replaced while I waited.

Very nice people to do business with.

FWIW, the new screw took noticeable (thumb/finger only) pressure to screw down - felt just like trying to tighten a nylock nut to a bolt - tight all the way.  At first I thought it might have cross-threaded but I pulled it out/checked it with a loupe after barely starting it in and it wasn't. Can't see how it could ever unscrew on its own. Maybe they modified the screw thread slightly in production as a result of some initial issues?  It appears to have a tiny bit of taper as opposed to a straight machine screw.  It certainly doesn't need any loctite!

And, as Phillip mentioned, great folks to deal with!  :)

I have lost the frame selector lever and screw, just like you. Could you let me know the contact information for Leica, who sent you the parts.

I reached out to the dealer here in LA, but they said they need to send the camera to the repair center, as they do not supply just the lever and screw.

Thanks!

Hi - I'm looking at a used M10 and the frame lines lever is missing.  They said they sent it to NJ but they couldn't fix it.  Does the lever and screw attach from the front?  The salesman said the lever attaches from the back and the camera has to opened to do it.  I suspect it was never sent in.   Is the screw head under the rubber on the lever?  Where can I get this lever?  the camera looks perfect otherwise.

Thanks

Not able to fix it? Utterly weird, unless they changed the design from 75 years which I don’t believe. It should simply screw on from the front in easy DIY. Consult with Leica CS. BTW NJ is as full service center and opening up a Leica M is daily routine. This sounds like incompetent salesman BS to me

The first person I talked to in NJ said that I had to send it in.  That seems pretty extreme for reattaching a screw - I now see that it is a thumb screw - that and a little locktite should fix it.

I'm new to Leica - is there a place to buy these parts on-line?

Call Leica CS in Wetzlar. Alternately DAG  might be able to help you.
