I am looking forward to a return home, once all this is over. When I could travel, I didnt think to travel; but now being told I cannot, I started to miss Glesgae. September - before days get too short.

I love the Crucifiction of Christ by Dali in the Kelvingrove - followed by a late lunch or an early dinner in Cafe India. Dont know if its still on display or if the restaurant is still there :)

Being a snapper I would have thought that Cafe Gandolfi would have been more appropriate......if it's still there?!?......:-k......

In the days of my late-teens / early '20s I'd be in Glasgow (a 'Bairn' from Falkirk) every other weekend so it's strange to think I haven't been back to Glasgow for 20-odd years!......:o......

And Dali's 'Crucifixion'; is it still hanging high-up on the wall of a stair-well? Quite a remarkable moment when you experience it towering above you for the first time! Masterful installation idea.

Philip.

I could sing the praises of the Summaron F2.8 on the Monochrom all day. I'd never sell mine. Below is a shot I took with that combination in a pub in Glasgow. I haven't photoshopped it because I don't really know what to do with it. It's too busy, I think., too much going on. So that's why it looks muddy and flat. But I liked the intensity this couple were staring at each other with.

Point is, that I shot this wide open at F2.8. The level of detail that this 60-year-old lens resolves is astonishing. It also has a lovely, gentle tonality. There's nothing harsh or overly contrasty in its rendering.

As a side issue, I'd say that the Summaron F2.8 is also superb on colour or black and white film. For me, it's a 10 out of 10 lens.

It’s perfect and needs nothing. I don’t see it as flat. This is a matter of aesthetics and subjective but bravo on this piece of art.

I love the rendering my M9M gives with older lenses.

I use a pre APO 90mm Summicron f2 (sublime awesomeness), 50mm f1.4 Canon LTM (love it much to my shock), 7 Artisans 75mm f1.25 and soon TT Artisans 35mm f1.4 (when it gets here).  I have found the little 50 a joy to use.  Here is a favourite from a recent shoot

Any Monochrom user can't be happy with less than fifty 50 lenses 🙃,

some in color though  111 pages to prove it

same logic as less than thirty five 35 lenses ...

When you buy your fifty 50mm lenses, do you get a discount on the Sherpas you will need to lug them around?

Discount is such diminutive concept ...

Some Gurus told me not to lug them all.

I must believe them 😉.

Two or three are enough (on different body), even one at one time as recommend the most sensible Guru.

Waiting for the tea to brew (and just happened to have camera to hand...).  A 1955 5cm Summicron Collapsible on M10M - the combination never fails to please.

There is also some serious art involved in boiling water, that kettle is with more buttons than the digital camera.
