Same observations as above.  One change I noticed.  Before, when you set continuous shooting via remote and then pressed the remote shutter, you get a single shot and the camera is returned to single shot drive setting.Just now, with 2.1.1 (iOS) I got only a single shot from remote, but the camera after shutdown was left in the continuous shooting setting that I had made over remote.

OTOH, when I used Remote to set the camera to f/4, the camera ends up saying 4.1.  Set it to 5 and it says 5.1, so they haven't gotten around to tidying up that bug, either.  Sigh.

I don’t know if this is just my opinion and hence sharing it here.

For me, it seems Leica are missing a massive opportunity here, they should make their apps free. Even better integrate aspects of the Leica Akademie maybe even the LFI magazines and create this into an experience as is using a Leica.

Maybe even try to encourage the 99% of the people on the App Store to download and use the app who do not have a Leica camera just yet.

Personally i would like to be able to make adjustments to my photos within the app ( like a lightweight version of LR ) and even make submissions to the Leica Gallery for review or to share them in a feed with other Leica FOTOS users.

It just seems so short sighted to build an app for people who are obviously very passionate about their hobby / profession and then just focus on the features of “take picture off the camera Or control the camera” and to add insult to injury try to charge it’s passionate and loyal customer base $50 for it 😀

I think I'm the only one here that actually likes this app - LOL.

I have it connected to my Q2 and CL and, so far, it connects fairly easily and quickly (I use a Samsung S10+).  I can quickly take a look at all my shots on the camera and download the ones I like (in JPEG) and then email it off to friends on-the-fly - all this without a computer/laptop - nice.

I paid for the app and for what it does above, it's worth it for me.

Cheers!

I'd like Fotos to provide me with a really flexible remote and effortless GPS tracking.  They are not there yet, and I'm not really into sending jpegs around on social media feeds.  I get ridiculed for still putting big pictures up on Flickr and emailing them to our kids  I can see the value of the upload link to a phone or tablet for event work, but so far have not needed to produce results quite that fast..

Ha Ha...our children are impatient...What's interesting is that my shots clearly are superior in terms of color, clarity, and (especially) composition to phone pics but some of my friend's iPhone pics are impressive with colors that are lifelike, accurate, and vivid.  There's some impressive processing going on in the iPhone...but I digress...

My desire (and I'm pretty much there) is to be able to transfer DNG's from camera to my iPad Pro and edit via LR on my iPad with full LR capabilities WITHOUT a laptop/workstation.  I just haven't had the time to do it yet.  Although with this pandemic, I do have more time...

In general I have good results with FOTOS APP and SL2 (over BT) - as long as the iPhone doesn't switch to lock screen; then the connection brokes after a short time. Unlocking the iPhone for 1 second is sufficient to reestablish GPS data.

How accurate is it?  I've been trying with the Android app but got very random and large (100m) errors.  Of course, things may have quietly improved.

my experience is better - using an iPhone X; I think something like 20m in worst cases, usually much better.

Maybe this depends on the smartphone and OS?

This is possible with excellent results (fast and accurate) with everything else than Fotos app. Take a simple cable, hook the camera to your iPad, use the latest iOS file management (files / location / u-you'll find your camera there) and import at high speed all of the DNGs you need and all of this for free. You obviously can do the same with a card reader... Once the pics are on your iPad, open Lightroom and have fun.

Then take $55 and go to a local restaurant, get yourself a nice bottle of whatever you drink: it will be paid off with the $55 you did not give to Leica - for the worse app one can design.

just btw, I used FOTOS 2.1 with iOS 14 without any (new) issues, works in the same way it did with iOS 13

Maybe a tad quicker in connection & transferring images..  L

Fotos 2.1 still cannot access or upload rwl files from a D-Lux camera to iPhone (iOS 15.1). This is puzzling since I can access DNG files from my other cameras using that RAW file type. I wrote the developer to suggest this compatibility and got this response:

"Please note, that Leica compact cameras are using the .rwl as raw image file format, however, this file format is not supported by third party apps on the mobile platforms iOS and Android.

Therefore, it is not possible to transfer photos from Leica compact cameras in the raw file format with Leica FOTOS."

I don't get it. What "third party apps"? As I understand it, .rwl is a Leica format since they use it on their compact cameras. Fotos is a Leica app. So why won't a RAW format they use on their cameras not be supported by them (the "third party developer" of Fotos, their own app) on the mobile platforms?
