Anakronox Posted May 1, 2020 Share #21 Posted May 1, 2020 Advertisement (gone after registration) I specifically switched to the M10 and M10M because they were slimmer. I have big hands and have no issues holding them. Everyone has their preference. If I want to grab bigger body, I can always pick up my GFX 50R

LeicaS2 Posted May 4, 2020 Share #22 Posted May 4, 2020 I have big hands, but much much prefer the correct thickness of the M10M. my previous Leica M’s were M6’s, M8 and M9 I had then moved to the S, but had subsequently handled a friend’s M10 and greatly appreciated the return to the film M thickness. It influenced my desire for the M10M over previous monos. It’s nice you have a choice for staying with the 240 thickness and it’s battery power.
pippy Posted May 4, 2020 Share #23 Posted May 4, 2020 11 minutes ago, LeicaS2 said: I have big hands, but much much prefer the correct thickness of the M10M.... "...correct thickness..." Funny! 40-odd years ago I remember thinking that the used M3 which had just been bought by a friend was an enormous bloated whale - in all dimensions - in comparison to my IIIa...which I considered - back then - to be the 'correct thickness' (and height and length) for a Leica. Currently I have bodies whose respective widths are 30mm (i.e. classic 'Barnack'); 32mm (M2); 35mm (M9M) and 37mm (M-D Typ 262) and have owned three other digi-incarnations of the M. Of all of the digital bodies the one which feels most like the M2 is (IMO) actually the fattest - the M-D - because it has no rear screen or buttons cluttering-up the rear surface - just a traditional Leica grained-texture leatherette-style covering. This makes a HUGE difference to the tactile experience. Philip. 2
Ko.Fe. Posted May 28, 2020 Share #24 Posted May 28, 2020 M240 series doesn't look as something very fat. I looked at M10 series and they are just too tiny for 4000 USD used cameras. It is easy to fix M10 if you like to grab fat bodies with your large hands. Buy Luigi fat leather half case with tossed in hand grip. Personally I never hold my film M by film advance, it is not for it. I use the neck strap, not keeping it in my camera bag all the time and not using wrist strap. Little difference Oh, and film M in Wetzlar made eveready case (half-case) is very fat.
intermediatic Posted June 22, 2020 Share #25 Posted June 22, 2020 I have both an M10M and a M240 (previously had an M9 and before that shot with Contax G series) and the form of the M10 is much nicer. Like Leica S2, I have large hands (extra large glove size actually), but the pudginess of the M240 is unattractive, unpleasant, and feels wrong in the hands. the M10M is a return to a good form factor that I've sorely missed with Leica's earlier digital models.
