Schittra Posted April 10, 2020 Share #1  Posted April 10, 2020 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have been using round A&A straps for my Leica M and Q over 10 years and love it. I just got my SL yesterday and found the strap lugs are different than the M or Q. What are the strap you use with SL? Thank you.

Jeff S Posted April 11, 2020 Share #4  Posted April 11, 2020 Everybody raves about the Harry Benz straps.  I recently received the Brogue SL2, all black, and decided not to use it.  While clearly hand crafted with special attention, the inexpensive OP/TECH strap I used during the 10 weeks wait for the Benz is more comfortable and practical (easy to change lengths for different carry positions), and also allows for a better hanging position (lens tilted down) with the longer zooms. And I don’t know if it’s normal, but after attaching the new Benz strap to the lugs, I noticed my fingers were black.  Glad I wasn’t wearing it over a nice shirt.  But the strap looks great and now sits in its beautiful box.  Jeff
MarkP Posted April 11, 2020 Share #5  Posted April 11, 2020 I use Arte de Mano straps for my M cameras, but I really like the Leica straps that come with the SL and SL2 and have no intention of using any others.  I find the Leica straps to be comfortable and well padded and support the weight of these heavy cameras and lenses, excellent grip on shoulder/around neck, not too difficult to wind around my wrist which is how I often use it when shooting.

Shows why we have so many strap and bag threads. Diff’rent strokes... Jeff 1
mercan Posted April 11, 2020 Share #7  Posted April 11, 2020 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have two Luigi straps, 100cm and 125cm and one Rock&Roll straps 125cm monochrome. For me, Rock&Roll straps is more comfortable but Luigi is more stylish.  Welcome, dear visitor! RMF Posted April 11, 2020 Share #10  Posted April 11, 2020 I also always used an A&A silk or leather for my Ms too, but for my SL I went with a Peak Design strap as I like the ability to quickly swap from a wrist strap to a full camera strap, and the ability to quickly tighten or loosen the camera strap with one hand. I also like the ability to take the PD strap completely off depending on the bag/case/working conditions. The RR straps and Benz straps are really tempting as I like them aesthetically , but I think I’d miss the functionality of the PD straps.
Jeff S Posted April 11, 2020 Share #11  Posted April 11, 2020 PD Slide or Slide Lite, or other?  The Slide seems too wide/large for my taste, although surely more stable.  With the SL2 and big zooms, I also prefer a strap that can attach to the standard lugs while still allowing the lens to naturally tilt down rather than sticking out from hip.  Does the PD do that (without additional plate)? hillavoider Posted April 12, 2020 Share #14  Posted April 12, 2020 (edited) peak design have nailed it with the detachable lugs, but also not nailed it with the aluminium buckles on their straps, however the fact you can quickly take a strap off a camera and carry it around with the freedom and lightness of just the body and no strap makes up for it in spades its the best system Edited April 12, 2020 by hillavoider

michali Posted April 12, 2020 Share #17  Posted April 12, 2020 Artisan & Artist silk straps on all of my cameras. They're the most versatile, supple and comfortable straps I've ever used. I've placed a small strip of black insulating tape on the edges of the SL & SL2 to stop the metal ring from scratching the cameras. otto.f Posted April 13, 2020 Share #19  Posted April 13, 2020 I use and like the round A&A straps for my M’s but I find the SL too heavy for them. So I use a Peak Design strap for my SL and found out that their claim is true: the camera feels lighter indeed and even with an R 280/4.0 it’s a joy to have a hike with it.
