911 (991) 50th Anniversary Edition.

(This very car belonged to fashion designer Sir Paul Smith, who has also put his name to some fairly lively limited edition Leicas.)

The gorgeous, though often problematic BMW 507. This one is a 1957 model.  If Wilson Laidlaw is following this thread he'll have details on what this car is like.

The arrangement of the lights suggest 250 GT Lusso but the absence of a hood scoop says something more like 250 GTE?

Alas, I was not sure and loathe to err, so called the restorer, a local body/paint guru and he says it is a 250 GTE. Thanks for asking and your participation.

The annual Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance is a wonderful event that keeps astounding car lovers & collectors with its improbable masterstrokes of assembling some of the finest, rarest most sought after automotive specimens in the world and displaying them in dazzling arrangements on the finishing green of the Pebble Beach golf course. A few years ago, in 2011, the selection committee succeeded in assembling 21 of the total of 36 Ferrari GTOs ever produced in such a display,  plus the development prototype ( the blue Pininfarina 250 in front, with production models behind it in ascending serial number order ). It was truly a sight to behold, and one that will in all likelyhood never be repeated. It's rare and exciting enough to see a single real GTO here and there, but to be able to take in and have virtually unlimited photographic access to fully two thirds of the whole lot ever created made made for an extraordinary memory.

In 2014, the Concours did it again, this time assembling 26 of the total of 33 Ferrari Testa Rossa race cars. It was felt there were too many to display in one long row, so the decision was made to show them in groups of 5 and six on the far end of the show field, since there were numerous complaints in 2011 about the arrangements of the GTOs, not being able to walk around the cars and observe them from all angles............made for a spectacular day !

My Pagoda's younger sibling, my Aug 1989 300SL R107, it's last of the R107 series. The Pagoda above is also the last of the W113 series, Feb 1971.
