Out of sheer curiosity today I mounted the Lumix 2X teleconverter on the Sigma 100-400mm lens and found that it worked in MF mode only.  As others have reported, neither Sigma nor Panasonic teleconverters work on the SL 90-280mm.  My first thought was, why have an alliance if there are so many incompatibilities?  Then it occurred to me:  maybe the SL cannot AF at f/13 (or whatever aperture that matchup produced) . . . 

However people may regard old R telephoto lenses in the contemporary context, that they are simpler to use cannot be denied! 😅

Yes could be right about the Aperture Rob, because the. 1.4 Pan TC works just fine in AF on the Sigma 100-400, just no exif details passed on.   Had I had half a clue before I purchased the Sigma converter I wouldn't have bothered buying it for the amount of TC stuff I'm likely to do with the lens.

I still haven't sent any test images to Sigma yet  I'm waiting for the tripod collar to be delivered, on back order everywhere here so had to order from China.
