andybarton Posted August 12, 2007 Share #8 Â Posted August 12, 2007 I've just got sunburnt today in the West Midlands. It was double-speed wiper time when I left home this morning, and I wasn't expecting anything like the sunshine we have had. Â Cloudy now I'm back home though, so no Perseids for me
topoxforddoc Posted August 12, 2007 Share #9 Â Posted August 12, 2007 I won't see any either - too many clouds. Anyway can't take any photos. Someone borrowed my tripod the other week and hasn't returned my QR plate!! Â Charlie

frc Posted August 13, 2007 Share #12 Â Posted August 13, 2007 Right Jaap, no meteorites to be seen mid country either. Â Did however have a nice UFO sighting lately. ( unidentfied falling object ) Â At about 21.30h in NE direction from De Bilt something fell from the sky. Â Very clear object, flaming and almost as bright as the moon. Â It traveled about 15" across the firmament in approximately 3 seconds, and then faded. Â NASA and others have put a lot of rubble up in the skies. topoxforddoc Posted August 13, 2007 Share #14 Â Posted August 13, 2007 Well I just got lucky last night. We were meant to have rain and clouds yesterday. Come midnight, the skies were clear. So my Wife and I went outside onto our roof and watched the meteors - neither of us had seen any before. Watched for about 30 mins and then went to bed. I don't know how you're meant ot photograph those, as they just fall randomly out of the sky and not just on one place either. Â Charlie
