I guess the original spelling is: "Mit Köcher und zwei Deckeln, alles original verpackt aus erster Hand. Für Rückfragen ..." (telephone number, address or email address missing here)

With pouch, two lens caps, everything originally boxed, first-hand. For questions .... (fill in address etc.).

Norbert

Help with Austrian or German please.

An Austrian seller is selling a lens:

'MIT KOCHR UND ZWIE DIKEL ALLES ORIGINAL VERBAKUNG ZUM ERSTER HANDE FURRUCKFRAGEN'

Any idea on what it may mean?

thanks.gif

This is clearly pidgin-German. The person who wrote it is surely not of German or Austrian Origin.

Be careful if this is an ebay-auction.

Though the account maybe a german one, this could be someone in Eastern Europe who is selling stolen gear.

Yes!

BE CAREFUL!!!!!... if this is an ebay-deal.

Dirk is right. Nobody from Germany, Austria, Switzerland would use a language like that!

I've lost 600 Euros some months ago. Ebay, seller in Austria (ha,ha), language much better, but still a bit strange. It was no stolen gear. The M5 just didn't exist. Only the pics were stolen. Ebay-account has been cancelled as soon as I had sent the money. Still trying to get back at least 150 Euros from ebay.

Excuse my English.

There are lot of strange Leica items from Austria at the moment on ebay. Rare items for not much money. Strange is that the sellers only have feedbacks (around 100) for having bought something and all the items they have bought are from private auctions or they bought the things for 1$. I would never buy there something. Check the feedbacks before you make a bit.

best regards Marc

Thanks for warning guys. I did not bid so far but what do you think of this offer?

LEICA M - 35 MMF1,4 SUMMILUX TITAN NEUE MIT OVP GERMAN en vente sur eBay.fr (fin le 10-Août-07 19:43:40 Paris)

Seems to be Ok if you want to give 1500e to somebody who can't make a single useful photo of the lens and who didn't say a single word about the exact condition of the lens.

:-) Marc

PS: For that amount of money you can almost buy the asph. Version.?!

@ lct

why don´t you look for one of the many professional sellers in Germany/Austria?

There are lots of them. They do nothing than sell gear in good condition, they have indicated their adress, their phone number (and: THAT is a good sign: they have visibly a tax-Number !! ;) ) and often even their bank account no. .

They ALLWAYS have perfect photos of the gear and you can see a long track of positive Feedbacks of hundreds of Buyers.

Don´t look for the one who sells for 3.50 USD less, look for the most serious one.

Good luck

Dirk

Hello,

I think it is recommended to ask the seller for the serialnumber. Suspisius sellers often did not answer those requests. When you get photos you can check if the number is correct. You can ask the customer service for stolen thinks when you tell them the number. And at least when you get the item you are sure, you get the thing you ordered before. (It could happen that you get the item you bought on eBay from an other shop and the bill is coming later again! But then the serialnumber of the item will be another.)

Best regards,

Bernd.

A little off topic but. I have seen an item on the German Ebay, the seller in fact is English ,or at least the item is located in the U.K.and he accepts Pay Pal. My question is ,does everything work the same from my U.K. Ebay account? I assume I bid in the usual way but would my Pay Pal account still be valid. I have written to him but all the instructions were in German regarding the mail so I'm not sure if he has received it.

Thanks for any help.

Brian.
