I recently bought a new Leica MP in London. I have been using it for a few months now, And I noticed a few things that I find are a bit odd , I would like to ask you if these are issues that I should be concerned about. The Quick wind lever for cocking shutter and advancing film is a bit wobbly, it moves up and down. Is this something that happens in general?

The other thing I've noticed is that it sometimes runs a bit when I put on a movie. I didn't experience anything particularly during the operation, but it was strange. This was repeated several times. but the camera works further. I attached a video to see what I mean. If all this sounds normal to you and you don’t think there is a problem then I apologies. Thank you for your time, really appreciate it.

Kind Regards,

It's not normal unfortunately.

Just out of interest, where did you buy a new MP in London? I've been looking for a while without success.

I didn't understand what you mean, at first.

Now that I saw your video, that is normal.

Never noticed that in decades of Leica M using myself.

Tried same thing with my two last M-A , same behavior, so nothing to worry about.

Just flexibility of the metallic lever of these 1-2mm movement.

When I pull up the machine, it sometimes clicks and the feed is not even

It's still not clear but do you mean that the film is not advancing properly when you load it? Are the perforations engaging with the pins on the take up spool?

Everything works well and it is well connected. The only strange thing about jumping in the Quick wind lever sometimes when I pull up the kamaera.

With the camera back open and watching the film movement, is the film moving smoothly?

Also, has the rewind release on the front of the camera body returned to its normal position?

That clicking is far more pronounced than on my MP. I haven't been aware of clicking whilst moving the lever and had to really listen to confirm mine does 2 clicks as yours does on your first 2 pull-ups. The clicking of your third pull-up does sound unusual.

What should I do now? should I send it back?

I would take it to a camera store familiar with Leica and ask them to look at it to see if they think it is faulty.

Could you open the back and let us see the film moving through it as you pull-up? If you can film the sprockets going through the perforations.

I don't understand what you mean when you write"The other thing I've noticed is that it sometimes runs a bit when I put on a movie."  Please explain.
