Good To Be Retired Posted March 8, 2020 Share #1  Posted March 8, 2020 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have a modestly expensive set of JIS standard screwdrivers that I use on Japanese lenses, but I lack such tools for German lenses.  In fact I don't even know what standard is used for German screws.  Can anyone suggest a good set of 5 or 6 cross point screwdrivers of the appropriate standard?  Probably under $50 US will get the quality I prefer. Thanx. Â And thanx for the suggestion. Micro Tools has some good stuff, but their camera repair tools section lists no screwdrivers, you have to search specifically. Â They're called Philips in the US, but there are physical differences. Â I suspect Europe may use something else. And Micro Tools doesn't know. Â They said they would "contact Japan", which sounded kinda odd as the screwdriver under discussion were made in the US. I also emailed the actual manufacturer, Moody Tools. Â They had a line on their website saying they had technical advice available 24/7, but I emailed several days ago and haven't heard anything. I guess I could just email DAG, I'm sure he would answer, but he's so busy I hate to bother him with asking for free advice. Maybe if I search on miniature tools suppliers in Germany ......... In lens assembly and at Leitz Cine, both Wiha and  Wera fine screwdrivers are used. Wera makes a nice 12 piece set that comes in a tool wrap. 5 flat blade, Phillips 0 and 00, 2 Torx and 3 hex micro in the set. I supplemented it with a Phillips 000. Stock #05 073675 001. I believe you can find them on Amazon, or do a search for Wera I also have Wiha micro screwdrivers and they are excellent as well  Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
