hirohhhh Posted February 21, 2020 Share #1 Posted February 21, 2020 Advertisement (gone after registration) I purchased my SL in Europe and I only have a cable for European plugs. Now I need one for the US plugs, but I just want to be sure if I have to pay attention to some specifics regarding voltage. For example, I found these two cables: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1454487-REG/nikon_niac_ac_power_cable_with.html https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1087583-REG/sigma_eyc026_ac_22_ac_cable.html Are they both safe to plug with SL charger? I don't think Leica is selling AC cable, and even if they do, it would be $
Advertisement Posted February 21, 2020 Posted February 21, 2020 Hi hirohhhh, Take a look here SL Charger AC cable (US). I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
AndreasG Posted February 21, 2020 Share #2 Posted February 21, 2020 In Europe, voltage is 230V AC, int the US 110V, so the cables and plugs are okay, because they are specified for such voltage.
TheGerman Posted February 21, 2020 Share #3 Posted February 21, 2020 Either cable will be just fine - it's just the conduit to get the electricity to the charger. Just always make sure the charger is rated for 110/220V (110V US, 220/230V Europe), and you'll be fine.
jaapv Posted February 22, 2020 Share #4 Posted February 22, 2020 Instead of the cable, you could use a simple adapter. https://www.amazon.com/Wimex-Europe-USA-Plug-Adapter/dp/B00Q47GX4U

jaapv Posted February 22, 2020 Share #6 Posted February 22, 2020 Well, there you are. These cables are completely universal. You can use one from a toaster if you want. You can get them in any hardware store, no need to use a specialist photographic shop.
scott kirkpatrick Posted February 22, 2020 Share #7 Posted February 22, 2020 Advertisement (gone after registration) And the plug converter which changes two pins into two (US) blades, costs about $1 in my local hardware store.

It’s for an SL2 but still exactly the same charger as for the SL (the batteries are also the same).

When I purchased my SL in 2016 in Berlin Leica Store, I got only European cable. But anyway, I ordered a new cable from Amazon three days ago, problem solved.
