Please correct me if I’m wrong but I didn’t think M10M could use UHS-11 cards?

I have no issues using UHS-II cards with M10M (e.g., Sony TOUGH 32Gb). Since M10 was already compatible with UHS-II cards, I would be surprised if the M10 Monochrom isn't.

Technical information for M10M lists only the following:

SD cards up to 2 GB/SDHC cards up to 32 GB/SDXC cards up to 2 TB

Thanks for that SrMi :)

I was the OP of the other thread.  In any case, I've since confirmed that the M10 Monochrom is NOT currently compatible with at least some Sony TOUGH 128 GB 300 MB/s SD cards.  Writing and reading will sporadically and frequently take much longer than usual.  It's stochastic, so you need to use the camera for at least a dozen shots or so, power cycling, shooting, and reviewing images, before you can be sure to see the bug, but it's also very clear when the bug is present.  I've tried three Sony TOUGH 128 GB cards now and all three show the bug.

Those were my favorite SD cards so hopefully Leica issues a firmware update that can fix the issue, assuming it is software rather than physical fit incompatibilities (the Sony TOUGH cards can fit a bit tighter than most cards into SD card slots).

I am using the SanDisk 64g UHS II card. It works well. But as I have a number SanDisk Extreme Pro cards that aren't UHS II, I think in the future I'll save the more expensive cards for the SL2.

I have tried a Sony TOUGH 128GB G card on my M10M. I shot about 16 images with power cycles and had a lockup once, card access lamp blinking constantly. However, none of my images have missing EXIF data. Apart from the fact that the card got stuck in my Sony SD card reader (TOUGH cards are notorious for getting stuck in cameras and readers), there seems to be indeed an issue with 128Gb versions.

M10 series does not fully support UHSII cards...specifically the 2nd row of contacts and higher sustained speeds which are also not necessary in M10/M10M

That is true, but like in M10, UHS II cards should have no issues when used in the camera. Sony TOUGH SD cards are built more robustly than other SD cards and do not have the @$#& locking slider :). They come only in UHS II versions.

yes, they are fully backwards compatible...you just gain no advantage on the camera side.

On the transfer side you would see a speed advantage assuming you use the appropriate reader.

Does anyone have a particular card they are really happy with?
What are peoples startup (off->on switch) & wake-up (from sleep, on shutter button) times look like?  Trying to figure out what "good" looks like.

I've found M10M to be pretty fussy about SD cards.

An older Sandisk 64GB UHS-I card I've used an M10 for a year (and M240 prior) works only sporadically.  Tried reformatting on my Mac and in camera multiple times.  I've had it flash "Sd" error in viewfinder for 60+ seconds on start.

I would have written it off as just that Sandisk card dying, but it's also not so happy with an older Sony 128GB UHS-I card I have.

I'm now using a Lexar 128GB Professional UHS-II (2000x / 300MB/s) I took out of my S1r (and reformatted in camera).
It seems to work reliably but I am seeing 8 second wake times, which is atrocious.   I always found my M10 wake to be slower than the old M240, but this is far worse.

For my Q2, I use the SanDisk 64GB Extreme PRO UHS-II SDXC Memory Card.  These have room for 605 shots from the Q2's 47 MB sensor.

The 300 MB/s card is optimal, but the 170 MB/s card is a viable option for normal shooting where a high rate of capture is not necessary.

With my M-P 240, I had file corruption problems when using Lexar cards.  I switched to SanDisk cards and have not had further problems.
