Rob L Posted December 22, 2019 Share #1 Posted December 22, 2019 Advertisement (gone after registration) I've set my top left button to User Profiles several times and after one use it reverts back to Photo/Video. Likewise, I have populated my Favorites Menu multiple times and the items all revert back to Off after a short time.

Do the favorites disappear from the list or they values change to off? Try reseting the camera.
digitalfx Posted December 22, 2019 Share #3 Posted December 22, 2019 I think he means they revert to default yes I have the same issue. I don’t think the video/still button can be reassigned

Haven't tried to reassign the video/still button to something else, but I'll try that. Over what time frame do you see the favorites go away? I just set the top left button to Drive Mode. It worked a few times. So I turned the camera off, then on. Still getting drive mode on that button. Took the battery out. Same result.
lpeeples Posted December 22, 2019 Share #5 Posted December 22, 2019 I’ve had a similar experience.
Rob L Posted December 22, 2019 Author Share #6 Posted December 22, 2019 The Favorites Menu populates normally and I can go into the options as you would expect a time or two, but then it disappears entirely after a short time. The Star goes away and if I go back into the Customize Settings, all options are back to Off. With the Photo/Video button, if I hold it down, the options all appear and the camera accepts the new setting, but after one use, it reverts back to the Photo/Video setting. These are two separate issues, but seem related.
scott kirkpatrick Posted December 22, 2019 Share #7 Posted December 22, 2019 (edited) Advertisement (gone after registration) I think I can reproduce. Setting the UL button to User Profiles sends you back to the default profile, in which the favorites are empty and the upper left button is photo/video. Since I don't have any User profiles set, that's what just now happened to me. I'll put the UL button back to drive mode, or maybe leave that on Favorites. edit: Drive mode is on the quickmenu, so no need. Of course, after returning to default settings I had to go in and turn off the focus assist light, and reset the first letter on all my files and set output to DNG-only. Rob L Posted December 22, 2019 Author Share #8 Posted December 22, 2019 OK, I think I have it! The Favorites Menu is part of what gets saved to the User Profiles. I had set up my User Profiles before I set up the Favorites. I went back and set up Favorites in each User Profile and re-saved and it seems to be holding the settings this time. The Upper Left Button evidently can not be re-programmed, even thoough when holding it down, all available options appear on the screen and seem to be getting saved, but the new setting does not take. scott kirkpatrick Posted December 23, 2019 Share #9 Posted December 23, 2019 I can reassign the video (UL) button. I've set it to drive mode, to exposure bracketing, and exercised it a few times. My camera is a far eastern version, serial number 555xxxx, in case that makes a difference.

UL works fine for me as well and sticks as long as set within a profile.

Rob L Posted December 23, 2019 Author Share #13 Posted December 23, 2019 Last update. The Upper Left button can be re-mapped to any of the other options, just like the other 4 buttons. There is a very definite sequence that needs to be followed. If I have, say User 1 all set up and I want to re-map a button for that user, I go into that user and re-map the button. After doing that the little torso figure under the User Menu reverts back to the Cancel (Torso with no number 1) (it seems to do this after any setting change). This is what kept throwing me off. All of the settings are still per User 1, but with the added Button Assignment. So at this point, all settings need to be re-saved as User 1. Exact same sequence as when adding Favorites. Sorry if this is obvious and normal to some. I don't use these features on my M10s.
