it is not within the rules to post such image.

Unless it serves in a discussion. The rules have been eased at this point. We have for instance MF film threads, even one exclusively for Plaubel Makina. So show us what you want to say.

Let's try with the link this time, reminder the idea is to compare similar effect picture but produced with 24mm wide on the full frame.

Edit, Assuming background in my picture was snow it would be difficult to tell the difference.  Of course 75mm is close up while 24mm is wider, much wider.

The 75 Summulix would have never reached its legendary status with this kind of harsh bokeh.

I assume you refer to my post #63.  Would you be kind enough to point out where you see harsh bokeh.

I think so called "harsh bokeh", if there is one, is consequence of the background and usual distance between camera, object in focus and OOF background behind.

One thing we could argue is that some aspects of pictorial quality of some lenses are sometimes judged through rose tinted spectacles. It is very apt that two sample pictures show thorny object 😎

I see it where there is bokeh.  The 75 lux bokeh is more smooth (or "dreamy" or "creamy" as it has been called) and IMO more visually appealing.  Evikne's image is beautiful and probably can't be duplicated with any another lens (expect, perhaps, the Nocti f/1).  But let's not hijack this thread, let's see some more 75 Summilux wide open shots.

Not that I think my image in post #56 is so very special, but one of the things I like best with that picture is the sharp, jagged frost on the brances, which unfortunately was mostly lost in the web compression. The contrast between the sharp and unsharp is something that appeals to me with both 75 Summilux and 50/1 Noctilux images.

The success of photo’s from the 75lux does not come from the hype among  (hobby) photographers like us. It comes from people who see these images and don’t know anything about niche-brand incrowd hypes. That is my experience with 30 years of Summilux 75.

The 75Lux is a lens with wonderful characteristics and a joy to use.  I took the shot few months ago in the back of Lincoln Memorial, Washington, DC.  Regards.
