My M lenses, including the 50 Summilux ASPH, will stay on my M bodies, where they function perfectly well.  For me, the SL2 will serve best with native lenses, using focal lengths not suited to the M RF,  and further benefit from optional AF, focus aids and IBIS, plus weather sealing (I’ll never use video).  But we each have our own needs and preferences. A core feature of the SL2 is its versatility to suit a variety of approaches.

The only draw back with the MM1 camera is the size of the buffer when taking multiple images on the "continuous" setting. It jams up after only a few frames and then makes you wait. The M10 Mono should alleviate this problem for me but as others say, "I will never part with the M Monochrom ccd".

Greetings,

I've done this... Took a SL2 and ordered 3 SL lenses. Kept only the M50 Cron APO, and turned last week my M10 to be sold while the prices are decent. Placed my name on top of a M10M to come, if ever it comes. The M10 and a couple of lenses are a kind of "deposit" on that theoretical potentially rumored camera.

To be 100% honest the SL2 is a superb camera but a bit complicated to carry around, so when you take it out it's to shoot. The "just in case" camera for me is the Q2, always with me.

What I like with the combination of Q2 and SL2 is the sharing of batteries and chargers.. Q2 really feels like an M with EVF.

See you in NYC Wilfredo ? We were supposed to do that with @stuny a few years back... 😎

Hi Wilfredo--You and I have been on this forum for a long, long time and the most memorable photos you've posted, in my opinion, have been B&W. It's pretty clear that's your preferred medium. I can certainly understand why you also want the ability to shoot color, but I'm puzzled why you'd want to jump to a completely different system for it. (I know you have the Sony, but am assuming you'd be ditching it?) You already have your M lenses and are obviously comfortable with the M rangefinder system, so wouldn't it make sense to look at adding something like the M10P, or even waiting for the M10R?

Hi

I use an SL2 system in the winter mountains. For nigh on six months of the year I think and see in mono. Alpenglow , beautiful as it is, has little attraction for me. The clarity and resolution of mono shots with the SL zooms is certainly on par with anything I got from my GFX 50. What I am eager to know is how the M10M , equipped with a 75 Asph f2 or a 35f2 Summicron may compare. Bulk of SL system not just weight is a consideration when ski touring. The M10M has attraction because it would be as compact as Fuji X series but, hopefully, deliver resolution and clarity which is just that bit stronger ( I like to print and frame at A1). Anyone any experience / thoughts of using Monochrom, M10 especially, in the high mountains. Attached, a thumbnail to give some idea of typical subject matter.
